A thorn in the flesh is not a curse but a classroom. Paul’s persistent weakness became the stage where God’s strength performed miracles. Human limitations are not walls but invitations for divine power to fill the gaps. When we stop resisting our frailty, we discover Christ’s presence thrives in empty spaces. His grace doesn’t erase the struggle—it rewrites the story. What feels like a burden may be the very thing anchoring us to His purpose. [44:58]

Job’s questions from the whirlwind remind troubled hearts that God was present when the world was formed, the oceans were set, and every part of creation was put in place. God is not pacing heaven, nervous about the outcome. God is close, God is near, and God is still in control.

Paul’s thorn in the flesh shows that even a man with great revelation, great gifting, and great responsibility still needed God every day. Paul does not make the thorn the main point. Paul makes grace the testimony. The thorn kept Paul from getting lifted up in himself and brought him back to the place where he had to rely on God instead of his own strength, education, position, or ability.

God allows some things that hurt without leaving His children alone in the hurt. Life brings some trouble because people make bad choices, miss the nail with the hammer, or try to play basketball with twenty-year-olds at fifty-eight. Satan brings some attacks too, but God puts a fence around what He allows. Grace steps into the hard place, puts a hand on the shoulder, and keeps a child of God from heights that would ruin them and depths that would kill them.

Limitations slow people down when their minds are running ten steps ahead of God. A thorn can make somebody stop scrolling, stop rushing, stop criticizing, and finally hear the voice of God again. A blessing can even be missed when gratitude gets replaced by complaints about how the blessing showed up. God uses slowdowns, inconveniences, and weaknesses to turn hearts back toward His presence.

Paul prayed three times for the thorn to leave, and repeated prayer was not a lack of faith. Repeated prayer was faith taking a breath under a heavy load. God’s grace is a present-tense promise: what God gives today is enough for today. Weakness is not a wall that blocks God’s power. Weakness is a door where God’s power shows up. Paul could glory in infirmities because the power and covering of Christ rested upon him. God’s presence matters more than getting every answer wanted.
