#JesusIsSufficient
“``Everything we need has been preserved in the scriptures and passed on and preserved for us and comes to us with power by the spirit. Everything that we need done for us is done by Jesus. He's what we need. He's sufficient. No need for another extra something that only the spirit gives. No. He points to the salvation that comes through Jesus, and Jesus is with us by his spirit. To have the spirit of god, in you is to have god in you and with you. And that's huge. Again, that's the gospel. Right? Humanity separated from God, now reignited, not just kind of with, but in. God with us.”

#SpiritRemindsUs
“He will teach all things and remind you of everything I have told you. So what a relief if they can they might take a while to process it, but what a relief for the disciples who are kinda worried about remembering everything they need to remember. They will have the spirit. They will have the helper, the advocate to remind them of what Jesus said. And it's it's it's should be no surprise that the spirit points to the words of god. It shouldn't be a surprise because, you know, the spirit's been giving Jesus the word. The father's been giving Jesus the words, and and as the spirit comes, he continues that work.”

#WordAndSpiritPower
“You see these links elsewhere. At one point, Jesus says you'll be born reborn by by water and spirit. Elsewhere in the New Testament, it says you'll be reborn by the the living enduring word of God. They do the same kind of work we see in in mission, how the word and the spirit work together. Paul writes in one Thessalonians, for we know, brothers and sisters, loved by God, that he's chosen you because our gospel came to you not simply with words, but also with power, with the holy spirit and deep conviction. The spirit directs us to the words of God. They come to us with power and conviction.”

#SpiritPreservesScripture
“So what we can't do is we can't divide go down this track of dividing spirit and word. They must hold together. They've gotta hold together. And also, we'll see, just really briefly, we'll see kind of the spirit's role in preserving the word of God so we can trust it. Anyway, so big picture, we can't divide word and spirit. We'll hold them together, and it's a spirit that preserves these words for us all these years later.”
