53s
“God is with us. God is the Immanuel kind of God. And God has put in things and ways to again point us back to God because God knows what we need. We need God. We need that relationship. So everything that God has done through the history of time is trying to create this relationship with us that we so desperately need. And so here, God and God's mercy gave Moses a song. A song to try and stimulate memory and faithfulness of God's people. But more than a song, what did God give us? A savior. savior in Jesus Christ. The chief cornerstone on which our firm foundation can be built.”

“Their rock had no mouth, no eyes, no hands, no ability to eat cookies, no ability to offer prayers. No ability to part the waters of the Red Sea or even cause water to water to come out of themselves, rocks. The rock known as our god carries the characteristics of stability, steadfastness, permanence, perseverance, and strength. The world the Israelites now found themselves in generations and generations away from the 12 sons of Jacob was bigger, faster, and with more to offer to tempt God's people away from God. And just think they didn't have iPhones and Facebook.”

“And so here, God and God's mercy gave Moses a song. A song to try and stimulate memory and faithfulness of God's people. But more than a song, what did God give us? A savior. savior in Jesus Christ. The chief cornerstone on which our firm foundation can be built. And so we give God praise for being the rock that we need, the rock of our salvation, the rock of justice and joy.”
