#GodCannotLie
“``Now, the flip side of that is that we can take it to the bank that everything he has promised is true. That every single thing that he has said, every blessing he's promised you, every word he's given over you, everything that scripture says is true. Why? It's against his nature to lie. And he will not lie, which means the promise of healing is true today as it was when he gave it. The promise of salvation and redemptions is as true today as when it was said in scripture. The promise of his peace that surpasses understanding is as true today as when Jesus was sleeping on the boat in the midst of the storm. It's as true today. Why? Because God is not a man that he should lie. Because it is impossible for him to lie. Because he cannot lie. So in the same way that we can look and say, God hates the lying, we can take it as an assurance that everything that he has said is true. And we can believe him and take him at his word because it's against his nature to lie.”

#WalkInTruthDaily
“And then make a commitment with him. Again, it's not with me, it's not with the church, and it's not with people. It is a commitment with God to repent. And from now on, start walking in truth. Start walking where your words are yes and amen. Where you're speaking in truth. Start eliminating all those different things. So you're gonna start catching yourself. A lot of us today, we're gonna start catching ourselves this week. We're gonna catch ourselves when we're about to say something that's like, oh, that would've been a lie. And that's gonna be the Holy Spirit saying, hey, I'm still working with you.”

#JesusSetsYouFree
“See, sometimes, don't speak it with words seasoned with salt. We don't speak it in love. And then we say, but I said the truth. You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free. Again, misquoting of scripture. Because the truth that we should know that sets us free is that Jesus is the son of God. He died on the cross. He rose from the grape. He paid the price for our sins. That's the truth that sets you free. So we've gotta learn. Yes, we speak the truth, but we speak truth in love.”

#RepentAndTellTruth
“From the small little, my dog gave my homework, to something big and everything in between. Lying is lying, and it goes against God because lying goes against his nature, and he calls lying He says that he hates it, and it's an abomination to him. Now, what's the reality? We all done it. We've all lied. All of us in here. And if you were to look at me right now and say, oh, I've never lied, we're all gonna point at you and say, bro, you're a liar. We've all lied. You know what we need to do? Repent and get right with God and commit to be truthful from now on. In everything, in our work,”

#SpeakTruthInLove
“That's the truth that we follow. That's the truth that we obey. That's the truth that we speak. And church, we speak it in love because we love someone and in love. We don't tear we don't use the truth to tear people down. And in our society today, right now, we do a lot of that where we speak the truth to bring people down. That's not godly. We speak truth in love. Let our words be seasoned with salt is what the scripture says. If you don't know how to say it, ask the holy spirit to give you the words or do what the psalmist also writes in one of the psalms where he says, put a guard over my lips that I might not sin against you. Put a guard.”

#LiesBreakTrust
“Bearing false witness is lying. And the implication of lying, that is what it is. And we have gotten to a place in our society where we lie and don't think twice. We categorize them. Oh, this is just a little white lie. It's not a big lie. I'm not hurting anybody. Church, let me say it this way. A lie is a lie. A lie is a lie. I read a research study that concluded that people who lie frequently are more prone to mistrust people.”

#ConfessToGod
“We have to own it to build trust again. You have to own it to be able to recreate the trust that was broken when you lied. What do we need to do this morning when we begin to worship in a minute? Individually, you and God. God, I lied. Lord, I've lied to myself. I've lied to people, but most importantly, I've lied to you. I've lied and you knew exactly what was coming out of me. Forgive me.”

#LeadByHonesty
“We tell our kids not to lie, don't we? We tell them since they're little. Don't lie, but then we teach them to lie. Oh, no, we don't. Oh, yes, we do. Watch, watch, watch, watch. No. Answer the phone. Tell them I'm busy. Tell them I'm unavailable. Somebody knocks on the door and says, Tell them I'm not here. Or, you know, you were on vacation, but you sent a note to school that says you were sick. I remember being a fifth grade teacher. Little girl comes in, gives me a note, please excuse so and so. She wasn't feeling well. And I read the note, and I look at her and it's like, how are you feeling? She says, Mr. Perez, I can't lie to you. It was my birthday and my parents took me to Disney. I said, Excuse the absence. Thank you for not lying to me. But we tell them don't lie, but we teach them to lie.”
