77s
“``If the only reason we reach out to others is because we need more people here, that's not really missions, is it? If we're just trying to benefit ourselves. Don't get me wrong, of course, we want more people. But if that is our only go goal, we are being just as inward focused. As anything else. But if our goal in reaching out to people is simply to share the love of God and to spread the of God. And so that more people can be a part of the wonderful mission of God in this world, whether it is by being a part of this fellowship or not, then that is outward facing.”
90s
“But if our goal in reaching out to people is simply to share the love of God and to spread the of God. And so that more people can be a part of the wonderful mission of God in this world, whether it is by being a part of this fellowship or not, then that is outward facing. And don't get me wrong. Of course, we will invite people into this particular fellowship. And, of course, we will welcome people into this particular fellowship, and we will rejoice when people come to this particular fellowship. But being missional, being outward facing is not church growth necessarily. It's being part of the bigger things that God is doing in our town, in our country, and in this world.”
56s
“But you know people, and you can tell them about what God means to you. It doesn't have to be too complicated. You know, there's been times when I was a younger minister where I set up trainings to talk about this certain way to evangelize people, and you can draw a circle on a napkin and do different things. But, you know, the longer I've been in ministry, I think what I tell people is just you can just tell people what God means. Tell people why you follow Jesus. It doesn't have to be complicated. It can be scary. I won't deny that. But it doesn't have to be complicated.”
67s
“Tell people why you follow Jesus. It doesn't have to be complicated. It can be scary. I won't deny that. But it doesn't have to be complicated. Because in the end, God doesn't call us to look inward at ourselves all the time, to only be worried about ourselves. But god calls us to look out from these walls. In fact, everybody take do that for a second. We don't have the stained we don't have stained glass in here so you can actually look out. Turn towards one of the windows there, by you and look out from these walls. Remember that we are called to go out and to spread God's word.”
