#LawOverLove
“Notice what they don't say here. They don't say, woah. Woah. Woah. You've been healed? That's incredible. Who was this man? They don't say that. They don't say after thirty eight years, who gave you your quality of life back? None of that. They go immediately to the Sabbath violation. They were so focused on the law, on their what I would claim their extra biblical set of rules that they added to it. So focused on these things that they missed god entirely. They missed Jesus who was acting right in front of them.”

#HopeMisplaced
“But here's what this passage will not let us escape. Everyone in this story has a misplaced hope. The man, he hoped in the pool. The Jews, they hope and trusted in their self righteousness. And if we're honest, every single one of us in this room, we have often find ourselves with our hope resting in something other than Jesus. And that's not an accusation. It's a diagnosis because that is the fallen condition that we all share.”
