Miracles of proof aren’t about spectacle but about awakening hearts to God’s presence. Like Peter, we’re invited to obey even when logic says “empty nets,” trusting Christ’s word over our experience. Such miracles still declare God’s reality in seasons of doubt or spiritual dryness. [18:19]

“When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, ‘Put out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.’ And Simon answered, ‘Master, we toiled all night and took nothing! The power gifts then move into faith, healings, and the working of miracles.

The working of miracles is the Holy Spirit’s power operating in a situation where God oversteps natural law. God created the world with order, gravity, tides, the sun at the right distance, and the body working by natural processes. The working of miracles does not deny those laws. It shows that God, who made them, can step over them when he wants.

Miracles in Scripture fall into four plain categories. Miracles of proof show that Jesus is the Messiah. The cursed fig tree, the signs and wonders in Jerusalem, and the overflowing catch of fish all prove that Jesus carries divine power. Miracles of protection show Jesus saving his people from danger.
