Paul’s command, “Let this mind be in you,” calls for more than a cleaned-up version of an old way of thinking. The mind of Christ changes how marriage works, how children are raised, how believers treat one another, and how they respond when somebody who does not like them walks into the room. The mind of Christ refuses to let somebody else’s attitude determine its identity. Christ makes His people secure enough to love, forgive, and “hug their neck” because their identity rests in Him.
The mind of Christ is first a humble mind. Humility does not make one person greater than another just because of an office, a title, or a platform. Christ’s humility calls for servants in the pulpit, not playboys, dictators, or entertainers. God’s Word must remain the thing that matters, and humble minds will treat people right because nobody stands above anybody else before the cross.
The mind of Christ is also an obedient mind. Christ humbled Himself and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Obedience means listening, and it means remembering that disobedience carries consequences. God still disciplines His children, and many unanswered questions about blessing may come back to a simple question: why is there not obedience? Christ’s mind does not bargain with God’s will or live like consequence does not exist.
The mind of Christ is a sacrificial mind. Sacrifice gives up time, talent, comfort, money, and personal desire so that somebody else can be helped. Selfishness and sacrifice cannot live together. Christ’s cross shows that greater love lays down its life, and daily cross-bearing means a person cannot keep choosing his own direction, looking backward, or living for his own ease. Christ gave Himself so that His people could be zealous of good works, and good works always cost something.
The mind of Christ must be exalted above every other mindset. Christ’s name stands above denominations, family traditions, politics, education, and every other name. God raised Christ above principalities, powers, might, dominion, and every name named. The Word of God wins when opinions, counselors, fears, and confusion cannot settle the soul. Every knee will bow, including Satan’s, and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.
The mind of Christ sees death differently because Jesus comes for what He has purchased. Christ does not abandon His redeemed children to death. Christ brings them home. The mind of Christ must be humble, obedient, sacrificial, exalted, guarded, sanctified, Spirit-filled, blood-bought, and fixed on things above.

Key Takeaways
- 1. Humility treats people right The humble mind does not need to prove superiority, protect a title, or win every room. Christ’s humility puts every believer on level ground at the cross, though each person may carry a different responsibility. Humility becomes visible when difficult people cannot control somebody else’s peace, identity, or obedience. [42:32]
- 2. Obedience remembers consequences The obedient mind understands that God’s commands are not suggestions without weight. Disobedience often creates the very burdens that people later ask God to remove. Christ’s obedience unto death shows that obedience may cost deeply, but it always keeps the believer inside God’s will. [46:02]
- 3. Sacrifice opposes selfish living Sacrifice is not merely giving from excess; it is laying down personal comfort, time, strength, and desire for God’s purposes and other people’s good. The cross proves that love has a cost, and daily cross-bearing means self cannot stay in charge. God does not forget what His people give up for His kingdom. [51:35]
- 4. Christ’s mind outranks every mindset The mind of Christ must be lifted above political loyalties, denominational labels, family customs, and human opinions. Christ has been exalted above every power and every name, so His Word carries the final authority. A biblical mindset does not rest on religious habit; it stands on what God has said. [61:28]
- 5. The Word of God wins The Word of God speaks with authority into fear, confusion, the future, and every defeated place in life. Christ’s final victory is not uncertain because every knee will bow and every tongue will confess His lordship. The redeemed do not merely face death; Christ comes to claim what His blood has purchased.
