#GospelReality
“``You know, the reason the gospel don't mean as much to us as it should is because we think we're far purer than what we are. You see, the gospel only works for people who know they're wicked. They know they're sinners. They know they're impure and if you think you're pure and if you think you're good, you think you're right. The gospel really don't mean nothing to you. Jesus said, I'm not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance. But before the gospel is good news, it's bad news. It has to show you the problem. Hey, this god is powerful. This god is pure and you are not.”

#FallenNeedRedeemer
“Why is Mephibosheth lame? Why is he dependent upon somebody else? Because of a fall. Is this ringing any bells yet? Yeah. Why are we dependent upon somebody else? Why do we need a savior? Why do we need a redeemer? Why do we need somebody to do something for us? Why can't we do it for ourselves? Because of a fall. The Bible says in Genesis three that Adam and Eve sinned in the garden and that god cursed man and that this whole creation has been fallen ever since then. That we have plummeted off into sin and because of that sin, it don't matter how many leads we turn over, don't matter how much good we try to do, we are still the enemy of god because of a fall. There's nothing we can do for ourselves. We are lame on our feet and if somebody don't do it for us, it don't get done. Right. That's the bottom line. That's Mephibosheth.”

#CannotSaveYourself
“Notice how Mephibosheth got out of the bondage and the unfulfillment. Verse five, he didn't get himself out, did he? It says in verse five, then King David sent and fetched him out. King David sent and fetched him out. Who got Mephibosheth out of the mess that he was in? David. King David did. He got him out because Mephibosheth couldn't get himself out, could he? He's lame. He's not going anywhere. He can't walk out of that place if he tried. Mephibosheth can put all the strength he wants to in his legs and he can he can grunt, he can moan, and he can push but at the end of the day, his legs just do not work. He's not going anywhere unless somebody gets him out of there.”

#GodIsSeekingYou
“You know, that's exactly the truth for every sinner. Right. You try everything you want to try. You can push and grunt and moan and everything else but until you meet the savior, you're not going nowhere. You're going be stuck in that exact same spot spinning your wheels, trying over and over and over and over again until god comes and gets you out of that place, you will be sitting there. That's right. But here's the good news this morning. God's looking for somebody to get out of that place, isn't he? That's right. He was looking for somebody. He wasn't even just looking for Mephibosheth. He said, is there anybody? He said, well, I'm in that place. Unfulfillment, empty, bondage, everything else. I'm in that place. Well, here's the good news. There's a good king that's looking for people like you.”
