God’s pattern is love, live, and lead like Jesus. Love starts with falling in love with Him before trying to love like Him. Living like Jesus cannot happen until a believer is first living for Jesus, and leading others to Him cannot happen until that believer is being led by His Spirit. The kingdom, righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit, has to be manifested within before it can be manifested outside.
The call to feed, grow, lead, and serve shows how spiritual maturity works. Feeding on God’s Word and God’s Spirit produces growth. Growth makes room for Holy Spirit leadership, and Spirit-led people can serve without being thrown off by hurt, offense, or somebody else’s bad attitude. Flesh-serving can get tripped up, but Spirit-serving keeps going because even pain becomes part of God’s great work within.
Arrested development works against that growth by keeping God’s children childish, immature, and trapped in old cycles. Childlike faith trusts God, but childishness takes the ball and goes home when things do not go its way. The Word calls believers to put away childish thoughts, childish understanding, and childish speech. Repentance and surrender break the cycle because God does not expose darkness to condemn His children. His light exposes the prison, the void, the lack of godly structure, and the dark wisdom that has been ruling the mind.
Supernatural living is not only healing at the altar. Supernatural living is praying for people who despitefully use you, giving when the flesh wants to hold back, loving like Jesus, and communing with God in prayer. Christ Himself became the example and the Coach. Jesus received the Spirit, resisted Satan in the wilderness, and showed that power over the flesh comes by every word that proceeds from God’s mouth.
Romans declares that those led by the Spirit are the sons of God. The new birth creates a new identity, one no longer ruled by flesh, social constructs, inferiority, superiority, or the need to be accepted by groups that want to keep a person bound. Christ is the firstborn of this new people, and believers must know one another after the Spirit, not after the flesh.
Great deliverance comes where great prisons have held people for years. God calls the bound, the tired, and the cycle-worn to be born again from above. The old man has passed, the new man in Christ has come forward, and the command is clear: do not keep going backward. Believe, receive, and walk forward in freedom.
Key Takeaways
- 1. Feed first, then spiritual growth follows God’s Word and God’s Spirit are not optional snacks for a believer trying to mature. What enters the spirit will eventually shape the life, just as natural food shapes the body. Growth is not forced by human striving when feeding becomes a real relationship with God. Spirit-led service flows out of that growth rather than out of fleshly effort. [06:44]
- 2. Childlike faith is not childish living Childlike people trust the Father, but childish people demand their own way and quit when things get hard. God calls His children to put away old thoughts, old reactions, and old cycles that keep them bound. Maturity means believing that even painful circumstances can become part of God’s work within. The flesh seeks acceptance from people, but the Spirit establishes identity in Christ. [38:14]
- 3. God’s light exposes prisons to free God’s light does not shine on darkness in order to shame His children. The light reveals what has been tormenting, emptying, and structuring life apart from God’s wisdom. Conviction becomes an invitation to leave the prison, not a sentence of condemnation. God’s sense must replace every so-called common sense that disagrees with His Word. [16:19]
- 4. The Spirit empowers supernatural everyday obedience Supernatural living includes healing and deliverance, but it also includes loving enemies, giving, praying, and resisting temptation. Jesus showed this first in the wilderness when He denied the natural demand of His flesh and stood on God’s Word. The Holy Spirit gives power and ability so believers can live beyond natural reactions. Surrender makes room for those giftings to work through ordinary lives. [22:41]
- 5. Born again means a new identity The new birth moves a person from fleshly bondage into spiritual life. Christ becomes the true identity, stronger than old labels, old wounds, social constructs, and the voices of inferiority or superiority. God calls believers to know people after the Spirit and to walk as new creations. Great deliverance begins when a person stops agreeing with the old cycle and receives the new man in Christ. [49:08]
