#ForeverLearningAboutGod
“``There's a phrase that's often used in theological world, that god is incomprehensible yet knowable. I don't know if we really fully recognize this or not, but when you and I reach eternity, Through the blood of Jesus, we will spend eternity with God, and yet we will never fully understand him. That's a humbling thought. If you have that thought, there's no way to not have the posture of David here. Who are you to puff out your chest at the thought that even in eternity when you will be glorified, you'll always forever be learning more of who God is? Who am I to act as if I've mastered the knowledge of God? Instead, it is the humbling act of steadily sitting at the feet of Jesus. Who are we to be prideful of knowledge that was a gift in the first place? The goal is not to master truth of God's revelation, but to sit at its feet and glory in it.”

#TrustingGodInLoss
“You wanna test your theology on the sovereignty of God? Wait till something doesn't go your way. you trusting the lord? Wait until something is taken from you. Is your life still exemplifying that the lord is in control? David says he's resting not because he's on guard defending what he has. David doesn't say he's resting because everything's going right in his life. David says he's resting because of who god is, and he has full confidence that if that is who god is, what is there to worry about? What is there to panic about? What is there to be prideful about?”

#SitAtJesusFeet
“One of the greatest lessons I'm still learning to this day because I am maxed out as an extrovert is learning when to be quiet. learned that there's something about just stopping and meditating on god's word. There's something about stopping to try to trace this theological thread, to try to master this text. There's something about just sitting with the text and saying, I don't know what to do except to just cry out to you. The mature faith is not the one who has all of the knowledge. The mature faith is the one who learns with that knowledge to worship god with it.”

#LastingHopeInGod
“At the end of the day, it's not me convincing you that god is worthwhile. At the end of the day, it's going to be your own time with God's word and in prayer with God and looking to what he's done and trusting him in all that he has promised. David then tells the one who is humble before God and the one who's resting in God, you have a lasting hope that will never end. There's nothing that can take it away from you. Neither this world, neither moths or rust or thieves, neither death itself can take this hope away from you. In fact, death itself is just the entryway into the realization of this hope.”
