We serve a King who not only created us but actively holds us together in every moment. Our very existence is not self-generated but is a continuous act of His will and intervention. This profound truth means that we are entirely dependent on God for our continued being, a wild and humbling reality. He is the source and sustainer of all life, keeping us in existence by His sovereign will. [03:13]
Colossians 1:17 (ESV)
And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together.
Reflection: How does recognizing God's moment-by-moment sustaining power shift your perspective on daily anxieties or future plans?
The King we serve is also our Good Shepherd, who left His kingdom of light to enter our darkness, seeking us when we were lost. He finds us, gathers us, and carries us home, holding us securely in His grip. Even if we struggle or resist, His commitment to us is unwavering; He will not let us go. We are locked into His care, destined for His kingdom of light, life, and freedom. [04:39]
John 10:27-29 (ESV)
My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand.
Reflection: In what specific ways have you experienced the Good Shepherd's persistent pursuit and secure grip in your life, even when you felt lost or resistant?
It is truly mind-blowing that God not only makes us recipients of His good news but also invites us to be participants in His mission. Though He has no need for us and could accomplish His purposes with or without us, He calls us to join Him. We are empowered by His Spirit to share the glorious good news of Jesus with those in our circles of influence. This is a profound freedom, knowing we are on mission with Him, but not solely responsible for the outcome. [07:02]
Ephesians 2:10 (ESV)
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
Reflection: Considering God's invitation to join His mission, what is one small, practical step you can take this week to share the good news of Jesus with someone in your circle of influence?
Our journey with Jesus is not a solitary one, but an ongoing path of intimacy and transformation within biblical community. As followers of Jesus, we are called to gather regularly, drawing near to God, holding fast to our faith, and being stirred up toward love and good deeds. In this community, we encourage one another, teach each other, and grow together to become more like Jesus, whose way is life and freedom. [13:31]
Hebrews 10:24-25 (ESV)
And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
Reflection: How has your participation in biblical community recently encouraged you or stirred you up toward love and good deeds? If not, what might be hindering that experience?
As ambassadors of God's kingdom, we are called to display extravagant hospitality, reflecting the lavish kindness our God pours out on us. This means creating welcoming spaces and experiences for all who encounter us, from the curious to the new believer. Furthermore, living in fearless generosity allows us to collectively fuel God's mission, becoming "gospel patrons" who enable profound movements of God and preach the gospel in powerful, tangible ways. [42:43]
Romans 12:13 (ESV)
Contribute to the needs of the saints and seek to show hospitality.
Reflection: In what practical ways can you personally embody extravagant hospitality or fearless generosity this week, reflecting God's character to those around you?
God is portrayed as the sovereign King who not only created humanity but continuously sustains every life by his will. That sustaining reality drives a posture of awe and dependence: human existence is not self-originating but held in the ongoing purpose of God. This same King is the Good Shepherd who leaves the throne to enter the darkness, find the lost, lift them onto his shoulders, and carry them home — a rescue that secures believers’ destiny whether they resist or rejoice. Being found and held transforms people from death to life and seats them with Christ in the kingdom of light, life, and freedom.
Alongside the comfort of divine sovereignty, there is a calling: God invites people to join him in daring mission. The invitation is paradoxical — God does not need human help, yet he graciously includes fragile, inadequate people as co-laborers. That participation frees believers from outcome-driven anxiety: the Holy Spirit does the transforming work while the church obediently shares the gospel. When people respond, the biblical next step is integration into gospel-centered community where discipleship, mutual encouragement, and perseverance are formed.
Practical realities follow spiritual commitments. Extravagant hospitality is both theological witness and practical labor; it requires room, intentional design, and rhythm. Statistical realities show a space reaches functional capacity well before every seat is full, and Mosaic’s weekend gatherings are routinely north of that threshold. Growth since a renewed focus on mission has outpaced current capacity, prompting a twofold plan: expand the Winter Garden facility using unused square footage and establish a new Mosaic campus in Horizon West (with interim opportunities such as a high school venue). Both moves will demand fearless generosity, careful stewardship, and collective prayer.
Historical precedent underlines the power of resources stewarded for kingdom work: influential writings and movements were often made possible by patrons who funded the labor of gospel proclamation. The community is urged to adopt that posture — to be gospel patrons together — so that evangelism, hospitality, discipleship, and new campuses form a multiplying witness. The result aimed for is not institutional success but a city reshaped by light, life, and freedom as people are found, discipled, and sent to be gospel outposts in every neighborhood.
And we sang them for good reason. Did we not? Because what a king we serve. That we serve a king who holds us together even as we stand today. We have a God that the only reason you and I currently exist is because by his will he keeps us existing. That's insane. In case you don't know, we are not self existent beings. He is not just a God who made us and then after he makes us, we sort of exist. The Bible teaches that he both creates us and holds us together forever.

And in Ephesians chapter two verses one through 10. He speaks of this and he says, men we were dead dead in our sin and God because of his great mercy and great love for us made us alive in Christ Jesus. I am the recipient of one who found me soul dead and brought me to life and holds me in life now. And then in Ephesians two one through 10, he says, not only that, but but he has now set us to be seated with Christ in the kingdom of God. Our destiny is the kingdom of light life and freedom.

We often think God needs us to go out in the world. Otherwise, what will he do? Have you read the bible? He's got angels as his at his beck and call he could send and I promise you people listen to those folk. You know what I'm saying? And then he's had donkeys talk and rocks talk and trees do things and burn and if God wants to say some stuff, he doesn't need you.

He doesn't need you. And yet, he sets this thing in motion where throughout the story of human history as humans are born onto this planet and then God is in pursuit of them for however many generations until he is done pursuing his people. He calls you and me to join the story and do things toddlers have no business doing.

We aren't going to accomplish anything whether we get it right or not. We're going to share and then he's going to do the transformational work. It is the greatest freedom to know that I'm the toddler. That I'm with him and I'm empowered by him and I'm I'm on journey with him, but at the same time, I am not held responsible for the things that I cannot do. In fact, I'm not held responsible for the outcome.

Hold fast to the confession of your faith. So keep holding to what you know to be true. Be stirred up toward love and good deeds because when we come to know Jesus, we join him on mission and our life transforms in terms of the way we live and the way we care and encourage one another. Pour courage into each other as we live this life because we're called on to mission.

And as we move into twenty twenty six church, we're going to get to preach the gospel with people that we have no business doing because we have no power outside of the Holy Spirit, but because we have the Holy Spirit and God is on the move, we're going to get to participate with the supernatural transition of someone from death to life, and then someone journeying toward intimacy with Jesus and experiencing both full life now and eternal life. That's awesome.

And we're going to be part of the call of God to express extravagant hospitality as they show up here curious or show up here as a brand new believer. And when they do, do you know what brand new followers of Jesus typically do? They go tell all their friends who don't know Jesus because that was their friend base about Jesus and all those friends typically come to know Jesus. So the good news is every one person we bring into this building will bring with them probably five to 10 within the next year. Yay.
