29s
“But now, we're on the other side of that death. Jesus has not only died, but now he's risen again. And he says, I'm gonna always be with you, and he's left us the holy spirit. So here's how I would say, should we fast or feast? Yes. Both. Kinda escape through the horns of the dilemma. Right? That can't answer one or the other. Answer both. Why? Because we're in this period, and I've used this phrase before, this period we call the already and the not yet.”
35s
“Already. We feast. Why? We celebrate because forgiveness has come in Christ. He has defeated evil and death on the cross, and the bridegroom Jesus has not left us without a comforter, the holy spirit. We celebrate. These are things to celebrate. We live in the joy of that, the new covenant. But we also fast because we see the effects of sin. Right? We see that the world is still broken. There's sin and evil in our lives.”
