Day 1: The Depth of True Peace
True peace, or "shalom," is a profound state of universal flourishing, wholeness, and delight that goes beyond the mere absence of conflict. It is the harmonious weaving together of God, humans, and creation. This peace was lost when sin entered the world, disrupting the perfect harmony that once existed. However, through Jesus Christ, this deeper peace can be restored. As you reflect on your life, consider how you can seek this deeper peace, not just by avoiding conflict, but by pursuing a life that aligns with God's vision of "shalom."
Isaiah 32:17-18 (ESV): "And the effect of righteousness will be peace, and the result of righteousness, quietness and trust forever. My people will abide in a peaceful habitation, in secure dwellings, and in quiet resting places."
Reflection: In what areas of your life are you merely avoiding conflict rather than seeking true peace? How can you invite God's "shalom" into these areas today?
