#DeadToSinAliveToChrist
“And the point of Romans chapter six is to teach us we no longer have a master named sin. We have a new master named Jesus Christ, and he has victory over sin. And there's something powerful. When you can come to this conclusion, I reckon that I am dead to sin, and I am alive to Jesus Christ. There's something in that confession that will give you great power and strength in time of need to overcome temptations and sin. Learn to reckon yourself dead to sin and alive to Christ.”

#SoulOverWorld
“So here we have a picture of a balancing scale. And just as it has dishes on either side, this is what Jesus presents to us. We have one scale, and on one side of that balance, we've got the whole world. And on the other side, we have the human soul. And if you were to add up all the world and everything that's in the world, it is nowhere near the weight of one soul. The human soul far outweighs everything you will ever find in this world.”

#JesusIsNotAshamed
“Now he's not talking about people who truly love him and are devoted to him, who trust in him. No. For for them, he's never ashamed. Think of that. For those who love him, no matter where you've been and what you have done, still he is not ashamed of you. In the book of Hebrews, Paul says that the day is coming where Jesus will gather us all together, walk into the presence of his father and say, here I am, father, and all those that you have given to me. And the writer goes on to say that Jesus will not be ashamed to call us brothers and sisters.”

#TakeUpYourCross
“And Jesus is saying that for us to follow him, we must take up our own cross. Now to follow Jesus and to carry the cross in the world's eye, that's a shameful way to live. That's an embarrassing way to live, and Jesus knew that. It's not a glamorous thing for us to follow Jesus in the world's eye. It's a walk of shame according to the world. But be sure that if you follow Christ, you will learn to die to yourself that he may live in you. Amen.”

#SoulIsPriceless
“The second question, he says, or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? You see what's happened to this man in the second question? This is a man who's already given away his soul because of some desire of the world, some luxurious living, some trophy, whatever it was. He's already given his soul away to receive some temporary happiness. And now when he dies in his sin, what would he give to have his soul back again? What could he possibly give? Nothing. Nothing. You know, the good news is while you still breathe, God always can save and heal and restore and forgive. But once you leave this Earth, you have set yourself for eternity. And in that day, what can anybody possibly give?”

#CrossBeforeCrown
“But Jesus had to teach them as is true to us today. He did not come the first time to start his everlasting kingdom on earth. He came to give his life as a ransom for many. He came to give us his life that we will be forgiven of our sins, that we would be made children of the living God, that we would have eternal life. But church, we know he is coming a second time. And the second time he comes, John says he is crowned with many crowns. And when he comes, he will set up a kingdom that shall know no end. The disciples were looking for that kingdom, but Jesus had to teach them before that glory, there must be a cross.”

#UnashamedForChrist
“This is someone who knows something about Jesus and probably aware of what he says. But in the midst of a sinful world and among those who are living in sin, they become ashamed to actually live for Christ. They may go to church on Sunday, but every other day, they would be embarrassed to be different. Embarrassed if people knew that they walk with Jesus. They're more concerned with being accepted by people that are around them rather than accepted by God. This is someone who may be here today and listening to this message and yet will walk out the door and say, Jesus, I'd rather not know you. That is one who is ashamed of Jesus and his words. And Jesus says, if you are ashamed of me and my words, then I will be ashamed of you.”

#SayYesToJesus
“I've had a lot of people who have asked me, if I come to Christ and I and I want to be saved, tell me what are the things I need to stop doing? And I always say, well, that's gonna take a long time. But instead of focusing on that first, I'd rather you just focus on saying yes to Jesus Christ. Because the more you say yes to him and the more you trust in him, you will find that all these things begin to dissipate. All these desires you have begin to fall away. Not because someone's telling you you gotta stop doing this, but because of the new life that you have. These old desires become the past. Amen?”
