#TotalDependence
“See, unbelief doesn't always say God can't. Sometimes, unbelief says, I've got this. And what Jesus reminds us through this story is that the need for us is to come in total dependence and reliance on Him. To say what the Father said, I believe, help my unbelief. I can't do anything about it. Not to do life on our own as if we can manage it without God's help.”

#FaithInJesus
“And I want you to know that it is not the amount of faith that saves someone. It is the object of faith that saves someone. When we place our faith fully as much as we can into Jesus and ask Him to forgive our sins and save us, He is the one who does all the work.”

#JesusIsEnough
“It's when we realize that what we think and what we believe isn't quite gonna get us there. It's not enough. When we start depending on ourself is when we realize that our ability is not enough. What I want you to notice is the constant theme is, I am not enough, but Jesus is. And when we do that, we cry out help. When we reach the end of ourselves is when we find that Jesus is enough.”

#DependentFaith
“The father turned to Jesus. And while the other two groups behaved as if as if Jesus wasn't necessary, the father turns independence because he's broken. He's conflicted. He's desperate. He's struggling. And that's what makes the Father so beautiful in this story. The Father does what neither the scribes nor the disciples are doing in that moment. He brings his own insufficiency honestly to Jesus. He says, I believe, and I want to believe, so help. And He doesn't demonstrate perfect faith. He demonstrates dependent faith.”

#GodAnswersPrayer
“I need you to understand and remember this, God always answers our prayers. God always answers our prayers. Sometimes He answers yes. Sometimes He answers no. Sometimes He says, wait, not yet. Sometimes, the answer he gives us is, It'll be right when you get to heaven. Sometimes, we actually find the healing or the deliverance that we're asking, and other times, we find hope, and we find help, and we find comfort in the midst of what it is that we're walking through. But always, the answer that we get from God to our prayers is that He gives us Himself through His Son, Jesus.”

#HonestWithGod
“He didn't come with the front. He didn't come with the answer. He came wide open and honest before God. And I present to you this morning this, that if we don't come honest before God, we will probably not get the answer we need from God. We've got to come honest before God.”

#DailyDependence
“We find Jesus. And as we learned last week, we can't just ask for enough so that we can go back to handling it again on our own. We actually have to say, Jesus, we want you. Not to get through this, but because we need you for today, for this breath, and for the next one. And so, when I don't understand, I cry out to God. I believe. Help my unbelief. And then to my amazement, we find that God shows up, and He helps.”

#OvercomingUnbelief
“They all have the same problem. You realize their problem is not different. Their problem is unbelief. Each one of those groups has the same problem in its unbelief. With the Father, the unbelief is anchored in doubt. I'm not sure that Jesus can. With the scribes, it's anchored in control. See, they were arguing about Jesus rather than trusting Jesus. And with the disciples, were doing ministry in their own power apart from the power of Jesus. We thought we could handle it, so we didn't bother to ask you.”
