“What is the meaning of worship? Is it about talking to your colleague, to your contemporary? Worship is communicating words of adoration and praise to someone that is higher, and when you do it you don't do it casually, you do it with reverence. You lift up holy hands, if you want to kneel you can kneel in worship. You worship in spirit and in truth, but you demonstrate the act of worship by what you do with your body. You don't worship with your hands in your pocket. You worship with your hands lifted up, you worship with your eyes closed and you are focusing on God.”
“Every moment of your life, make it a moment of worship. Doesn't matter where you are—in your car, in your bathroom, in your kitchen, in your office, at the mall—it should be a moment of worship. Praise the Lord. Hallelujah.”
“In this month of in gathering, when we sit and discuss as a family, one of the things that we need to know and do is what? Study. We do what? We study. What do you study? You don't study magazines, you don't study novels, you don't study things that are of the world, you study the word of God. Why must you study? God has to approve of you. Praise the Lord. God has to approve of you. He does not approve of an ignorant Christian.”
“So one of the first things you have to do as a Christian in this month of in gathering is study. You've been born again, you've been brought into light, you're coming to church—study. Study is not the same as read, do you understand? Study is different from reading. Study means you look at the material again and again, you go into it deeply, you look at various translations, you spend time, praise the Lord, you dig deep into the scripture. This is study.”
“If you don't study, you will not be approved of God, and if God doesn't approve of you, then man will not approve of you. He has to approve of you before man can approve of you. That is the lasting approval. Hallelujah.”
“Not studying brings about what? Embarrassment. It brings about embarrassment. Not studying brings about embarrassment. Now, I'm not talking about you being embarrassed because something is on your clothes—that is nothing compared to how the devil will embarrass you when you don't have the word of God inside of you. The devil will embarrass you if you don't have the word of God inside of you, and when he embarrasses you, that is fatal.”
“When you study, you're able to divide the word of truth rightly. You don't mix things up, you know what word to apply when issues come face to face with you. Praise the Lord. We used to have this saying that when you go to a doctor and they give you medicine, some they give you to drink and some they give you to rub. If you drink the one they give you to rub, what do you think would happen to you? Problem, right? So you must rightly divide the medication.”
“It's the same thing with the word of God. You have to be able to rightly divide it. What should I apply at this point in time? I need healing right now, I am not going to look for scriptures that have to do with prosperity and resources, you understand me? I need to deal with poverty in the life of someone, I'm not going to apply words that relates to healing. So you rightly divide the word. Praise the Lord.”
“Steer clear of foolish discussions that lead people into the sin of anger with each other. So the other thing you have to do in this month of in gathering is what? Steer clear of what? Foolish discussions. Don't waste your time talking about foolish things, vain things, things that will not edify you. Steer clear.”
“It's important to avoid, eschew, move away from profane and vain babblings, foolish discussions that don't improve your life one bit. Praise the Lord. This is not an advice, it's an instruction from God. Hallelujah.”
“Reduce your consumption of social media, reduce it. Consume the word of God more than you consume social media. It is important. Consume the word of God more. Spend time with God's word. We can spend hours mindlessly, aimlessly just flipping through things. There are some apps I don't have on my phone and one such is TikTok. I don't want it. You spend your time and you're just flipping and flipping and flipping and flipping and flipping and by the time you know it, you've spent two hours doing what? What have you learned? Nothing. Spend time with the word. That is what builds you up.”
“You don't want to overthrow the faith of other Christians—that is a very deadly sin. Praise the Lord. When you say foolish things, you overthrow the faith of some, you cause people who are Christians, who have received Christ, who are in God, to begin to doubt. And when they begin to doubt, they leave church, they go away, they are separated from God. You don't want that to happen, do you? So avoid foolish discussions.”
“Does God know that you are his? Are you confident that God knows your name? He knows that you are his. How confident are you? Why would you say that God knows that I am his? God knows, he knows my name. What's your confidence, what's your evidence that God knows your name? He knows that you are his. You don't read the Bible, you don't know his word, you don't know his thoughts, you don't know his will, and then you're saying God knows you. He does not know you. He does not know you because you don't know him. You need to know him. Praise the Lord.”
“Let everyone that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity. Depart from iniquity. Vain babblings, idle discussion is iniquity. Turning others away from God is iniquity. You don't want to do that. Not studying is iniquity, it's a failing, because if you don't spend time with God's word, what are you spending time with? Hallelujah.”
“Flee also youthful lusts, but do what instead? Follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart. So what must you eschew, what must you flee? Youthful lust. So those things that young people would do, you didn't want to do them that you would do in that life that you were in, you didn't want to continue to do them. Says stay clear of them, flee away from them.”
“Run from anything that gives you the evil thoughts that young men often have. Run from anything that gives you what? Evil thoughts. Now, what are evil thoughts? I think it's thoughts to do wickedness, to harm someone. Now, if the thought is not of God, if the thought isn't aligned with God's word, it's an evil thought. Do you understand me? Your thought has to be aligned with God's word.”
“Stay close to anything that makes you want to do right. Doing right should not be a difficult thing for you. Why? Because you have the Holy Ghost inside of you, you have the Holy Spirit inside of you. Praise the Lord. So you're not fighting to do right, you're not striving to do right. No, you have the nature of God. Is God fighting to be right or to do right? No, he's not. It's his nature and he's giving that to us as well. We have his nature.”
“Fellowship with anything that makes you want to do right. The Bible, one, makes you want to do right. When you study his word, it makes you want to do right, so do it. Fellowship with the word. When you worship, it makes you want to do right, so worship.”
“If it doesn't edify you, don't listen to it. If you know that if your parents hear that, they will cringe and deal with you, don't listen to it. That should be the barometer that you use. Can I play this same music in front of my mom or my dad, or can I use the words they use, this music, in front of people in church? Can I do that? If you cannot, then don't. Don't listen to it. It's not helping you. It is driving you away from God. Hallelujah.”
“Enjoy the companionship, not abide it, enjoy it. Enjoy having fellowship, enjoy being friends with those who love the Lord. Many of us, we don't want to be friends with people in church. Oh, it's boring, what can we talk about, just verses and verses and verses, is that all? No, we want to go and talk about other things. No, he says enjoy the company of those who love the Lord. It's something you can enjoy. He says enjoy it, it's not something to endure, something to enjoy.”
“Avoid foolish arguments, avoid vain discussions, vain babblings. God's people must not be quarrelsome. Do you see that? God's people must not be what? It says must not. It doesn't say may not, so it's an instruction, it's compulsory. If you like to quarrel, then it means you're not God's people. Hello.”
“If you think you have that inside of you, you have to speak in tongues, you have to pray for God to purge that out of you. He says there must be what? Instead, they must be, they must be what? Gentle. You must be gentle. Are you gentle? Do you talk to people in a gentle manner? Are you respectful, or do you only respect those you think you can get things from? No. Gentle and respectful of everyone, doesn't matter what you perceive their station to be.”
“You must also be what? Patient teachers of those who are wrong. Patient teachers, not just teachers, but patient teachers. So if you are teaching someone and they don't get it, what do you do? Slap them on the head and call them names, you dumb? No. A patient teacher goes back to the beginning and explains again and again and again and again until the person gets it. You must be patient and you must teach the right things.”
“Be humble when you teach. Be humble. Be what? What is humility? Humility is not thinking of yourself more highly than you ought. I am better than you, sister, is not humility. Do you understand me? It says be humble. This is one of the things that many of us don't have. We're not humble. We think we are humble, we persuade ourselves that we are humble, but when situations arise, then you know that stilly stilly, you're not humble, you're not.”
“The Bible says God resists the proud and gives grace to the humble. I love grace. Hello, I love grace. I love grace. Grace is fantastic. I enjoy grace. I enjoy grace, and that is something that I incorporated into my organization. Humility is a cultural principle in my office. It's a cultural principle. If you're not humble, I don't employ you. I don't bring you in. And if you come in, maybe you deceived us and we see that by your conduct you're not humble, we get you out very quickly because we don't want God to resist us in that organization. Because when you're proud, God resists you, and imagine if God resists you, who do you want for assistance? Huh? Who do you want for assistance? No one is capable of assisting you if God resists. Praise the Lord.”
“So this is the word I have for us today, this morning. In this month of in gathering, let us examine ourselves and make sure that we're doing the things of God. We are following his word, we are studying his word, because by studying we get approval from him, and we watch the companies we keep. The companies we keep, it's important. Remain humble. If you're not, continue to pray, speak in tongues and ask God to help you remain humble.”
