Now in these glowing words the great Apostle in a very characteristic and typical statement gives us his view of life if you like his philosophy of Life tells us of the way in which he is able to face life with all its difficulties and its problems and its trials and it's very interesting that he does so here and on this occasion in this letter to this young man Timothy. [00:58:36]

Christianity is that which enables the men to look at life at its worst and darkest and starkest and then say, nevertheless, and he's the only man who can say that. Nevertheless, says the Apostle, I am not ashamed. Now these terms are a little bit important and that's why I'm stopping with them before I expound his message to you. [05:13:13]

Here is a man who can rise above his surroundings. Here is a man I say who Towers up above it all he's mastered life he's conquered life he knows the secret of victory in life and the result is that he can face the future with all its uncertainties with perfect Equanimity he's got an assurance which nothing can disturb. [08:18:56]

The first thing that accounts for this attitude of the Apostle is that he had realized the Supreme value of the soul for the which cause I also suffer these things nevertheless I am not ashamed why well for I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day. [14:14:56]

This man had come to realize that life is isn't merely something that belongs to the mind either that's better than the life of the body only but still it's incomplete there are others who live solely in terms of the affections the heart and the emotions and their whole life is centered around that they think of it they talk about it they dream about it. [19:55:64]

The second thing about this man's Outlook was that he lived his life in the light of what he calls that day for the which cause I also suffer these things nevertheless I am not ashamed for I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day. [28:25:88]

The Apostle Paul lived his life ever always as under the shadow of that day that is the second strand or element in his philosophy of life he knew that a time was coming a day was coming when history would come to an end and the world would come to an end and when the whole world would have to stand in judgment before the Son of God. [30:23:20]

Paul had this marvelous view of life I say because of his knowledge of the worth of the Soul because of his knowledge of the certain coming of that day ah yes but above and beyond it all was his knowledge of Christ and without this the other knowledge would produce nothing but misery and Dread and Terror and alarm. [36:19:76]

The secret of the apostle was his personal knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ personally he says I'm perfectly happy I'm quite content I'm not a bit disturbed I'm not ashamed I know him and I know that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day. [37:56:04]

He has put death out of commission and he has brought life and incorruption to light through his gospel I am not worrying about my my soul not about my future says Paul it's in the safekeeping of one who not only conquered the devil and his Temptations while he was in this world he's even conquered death in the grave. [44:41:19]

I know whom I have believed and I know that neither death nor life nor angels nor principalities nor powers nor things present nor things to come nor height nor depth nor any other creature shall be able to separate me from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus my Lord nothing can touch this power. [45:41:96]

I know him I know he's the son of God and I know that he loves me he's died for me he came into the world for me he lay down his life for me he'll keep me ah yes he says I know his power also did you notice how he put that he says but Is Now manifested by The appearing of Our Savior Jesus Christ. [43:49:44]
