a father asked his son one day he said I will give you one piece of candy right now or if you wait 30 minutes I'll give you five pieces of candy which do you choose well of course the little boy chose the one piece right now causing him to lose out on the five pieces later see he had a short-term perspective and he didn't get long-term benefit [00:00:00]

that tells us the way a lot of people live their lives they don't live for an eternal benefit they don't have an eternal perspective they just have a right now perspective and that reflects immaturity in life and spiritual immaturity in our faith God wants us to live our lives now with eternity in mind and if we will live now with eternity in mind we not only get the benefits that will accrue to us in eternity but we get the fulfillment because we prioritize God in the noun [00:31:02]

when investors invest you're encouraged to look long-term because if you only live for today then you don't get the benefits of tomorrow that's why God encourages us to live for his kingdom and to let where we are going influence how we live right now and when that becomes our perspective that heavens destiny drives Earth's decisions then we have a better life on earth and we have greater reward in heaven [00:70:46]
