#SpiritAndTruthWorship
“``Spirit and truth. True worship that God accepts flows from a heart that's, listen to me, alive with the spirit and a mind that's anchored in the scriptures. Both. Alive in the spirit and anchored in the scriptures. Not either or, both end. In Romans, Paul says, be fervent in spirit. Be aglow, some revised standard. Be boiling. The word literally means to be boiling in spirit for the Lord. Jesus says you're neither hot nor cold. I would that you were. Are you? Are you pass you know, I like to say worship. This is my own definition. It's not straight from the bible, but it gets at what I think the scripture teaches. True worship involves affectionate, you could say passionate surrender.”

#EmmanuelIsHere
“Do do you understand that exact same thing that someday the messiah's gonna come and he says, no, no, no. Messiah, yes, he will come back, but I am here now. No, three times in the book of Revelation chapter 22, Jesus says, I am coming soon. I love it. I am coming. I am coming. I'm coming. But that same Jesus who said, am coming soon, said in Matthew, I am with you always. I am coming back to establish my kingdom, but until I do, I'm gonna be with you every day. The promised one is the present one. The coming king is our Emmanuel.”

#TodayIsTheDay
“When people say, someday I'm gonna receive Christ. You know what I tell them? I've checked. Someday is not a day on the calendar. Well, tomorrow. What is the old quiz joke? What is always coming but never arrives tomorrow? When it arrives, it's today. God says, this is the appropriate time. Second Corinthians six, this is the time. Today is the day to deal with you in the Lord. If you hear him speaking to you today, don't put it off one day because maybe tomorrow you won't hear him at all. Don't harden your heart because when you harden your heart, you'll harden your hearing.”

#LivingWaterForAll
“God knows what you're doing. You can come here and fake us all out. We don't see it. We don't know. your sin is an open secret with the Lord. That's why he said to her, look, I know all about you. But may I say just one other thing? I noticed when he points out people's sin, listen to me. He does not rub their nose in it. He said, what do you mean? He doesn't say to the woman, you know, go call your husband. Or he doesn't when she brings back men, I'm jumping ahead. He doesn't say, which one is the guy you've been with? I wanna have some counseling with him right now. No. He doesn't say, living water is available as soon as you pack up your bags and move out. No. He offers them the living water be before that. Stop getting this idea that you gotta get people to repent to a certain level to receive Christ. Do you understand the gospel as Jesus reaches down to the lowest pit?”

#GodRestoresRelationships
“You haven't gotten so messed up that you can never experience the presence of God again. Don't let yourself believe that. You may have gotten yourself so messed up. You've lost a relationship with your husband, your wife, your kids, your friends, your boss, other people. Maybe you've damaged a lot of relationships and they they don't seem repairable. I I can't speak to that. And I believe God can do anything, but but I I can guarantee you, your relationship with God can be restored.”

#GraceNotCoercion
“Stop trying to get people worthy of it. There's only one way to be worthy of it. It's to be Jesus or to receive Jesus. That's it. Amen. So you gotta do one of the two. And I don't think the first one's available to you. So are you with me? Some people have made the mistake. Listen. I believe in sharing the law to help people see they're sinners. I'm not against that. A, it's not the only method that Jesus ever uses. Keep that in mind. Don't make it a mechanical thing. And be realized realize you're you're not to be the holy spirit to get people so convicted of sin that they need a savior. That's not what Jesus said to the woman who was caught in adultery. That was the perfect moment to step on the law and say, man, you are a sinner. He said, I don't condemn you, but go and sin no more. He never ignores sin. He never endorses sin.”

#BeTheSamaritan
“I guess my question is, who's your Samaritan? Who's your Samaritan? Who's the person that you just, you don't have any dealings with them because they're messed up theologically. Maybe they call themselves a Christian, but it's not your version of it. It is some perversion of it. It bothers you that they're not orthodox. I'm not saying it shouldn't bother you, but Jesus didn't seem to be bothered by that. Or maybe it's the way they're living. It's not right. Should bother you, but it shouldn't keep you from ministering the love and the grace of God. Jesus is an example to me of reaching out across a barrier that I I would not have reached out to. And so I'm being convicted as I study this, not just as I teach it.”

#TheyChangeTheSubject
“But put this down, it's easier to change subjects than to be changed by the savior. He has just revealed to her that he knows a lot about her and that she's had multiple husbands and the man she's living with now is not her husband. But she seems to be more impressed with what he knows about her sin than broken about her sin. You know, modern day fighters, I'm talking about planes, have the ability to avoid getting hit by missiles by throwing out flares, infrared decoy flare, IDF is what they're called, be that burn hotter than their own engines, and therefore, those heat seeking missiles, many times will hit them, and that's how they avoid getting hit. And that's what I that's what I picture here.”

#AgapeFromTheSpirit
“No wife in this room wants her husband to go to work, bring home a check, pay the mortgage, pay for groceries, show up at every family gathering, be faithful to her till the day she dies, but not love her anymore. You cannot escape this. You need to love the lord and that involves the power and the person of the holy spirit. Why? The fruit of the spirit is agape love. A love that's god sent, god god wrought. We need the love of god. He wants us to love him. I can't generate it. I can't make it happen just intellectually. I need the spirit of God to give that ability to me.”

#GodRemainsFaithful
“But they were the ones that were given the covenants. They were given the law. They were given the priesthood. They were given the promises of messiah. And the God who is faithful will fulfill his promises to the fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. For the sake of the fathers, read Romans nine through 11. He's going to be faithful. Why? Because he can't be anything else. Yeah. And you should take comfort in that. It's not because they're the Jews. It's because he's Jesus. He will fulfill his promise. That's the way he is. You and I need to realize that's the kind of God we serve. Though we are faithless, and are we faithless? If you say no, you're lying. We are. He remains faithful because he cannot he cannot deny who he is.”

#StayOnTarget
“Even if it costs you your life, don't stop. Stay on target. If we're not gonna win this battle, just stay on target. And I feel like that is happening with Jesus. The enemy wants to get you off track when it comes to witnessing. He doesn't want you to witness at all, keep your mouth closed, or to get you into an argument about something that will be of no value or even make it harder. But Jesus does not do that. He does not take the bait.”

#ObedienceIsWorship
“Put this down, number two. Realize true worship always always always, you can underline it three times if you want, requires obedience. See, we talk about this as our worship service, and most of us grew up thinking this is worship is a it's singing. True worship is more than singing songs. It's more than studying the bible at church. Do you know what the worship book of the Old Testament is? And if you said yes, it's the book of Psalms, sorry, you're wrong. That's the song book of the Old Testament. The worship book of the Old Testament is the book of Leviticus. You say really? Yes. Because God instructs his people how to approach a holy God, and it's on the basis of sacrifice. Only on the basis of an acceptable sacrifice can you worship God. Now believers in the New Testament, we are told to continually offer up a sacrifice of praise, which is the fruit of our lips that gives thanks to God's name.”

#WorshipAndHoliness
“The Bible says in Hebrews that the marriage bed is undefiled, but fornicators and adulterers, God will judge. Don't don't lie to yourself. Listen. If you're coming to church and you love to worship the Lord, but you're living with a person that's you're not your spouse, You're not worshiping the Lord. You see, this woman is living in an immoral relationship, but she wants to talk about the right place to worship. Can anybody else tell me, uh-huh? That is that's not that makes sense. Well, it makes sense to you if what you you enjoy you think you can enjoy worship without surrendering your life and being obedient to God? You can't.”

#SomedayIsToday
“Revelation three twenty comes to mind. Remember what Jesus said. Behold, I'm standing at the door, your door, and I'm knocking. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I'll come in and have fellowship. It's like Jesus is saying, you're waiting for something in the future, but guess what? It's it's right now. Jesus turns someday into today. By the way, this isn't the last time this happens. In John 11, Jesus goes to a funeral of Lazarus. Martha, Lazarus' sister says, if you had been here, my brother wouldn't have died. And Jesus says, your brother will rise again. And she says, yes, I know. I know my bible. I read Daniel 12. There's a resurrection promise some, you know, way far from now. Sunday. Now what does Jesus say? I am the resurrection right now.”

#WorshipWithoutSurrender
“But people are gonna throw up flares, and you're gonna need to, when that happens, go, this is the enemy trying to get me off track. He has just brought up her sin. You know, she doesn't make any comment other than, oh, wow. You're a prophet. And then immediately, she pivots and starts bringing up the debate between the Jews and the Gentile or Jews and the Samaritans about where's the right place to worship. Changes gears, detour. Put this down. They want worship many times, the people you're gonna witness to without surrender. And fill in this word. Many love to worship while still living in sin.”

#ReturnToFirstLove
“Listen, Jesus wants you as a believer to be on fire. Did you used to be? Was there a time when you were hungry for the word? Was there a time you couldn't wait to be with the Lord in prayer? There was nothing better than that. Was there a time when you were closer? Listen. If you say yes, Jesus is saying that to the church at Ephesus. So their doctrine was great. Go read Ephesians two or second Ephesians. That's Revelation two. It says letter to the church at Ephesus. I have this one thing against you. You have left, not lost. You have left your first love.”

#DontLetFearSilenceYou
“Listen. Satan wants to keep you from ever sharing your faith, and the gospel of John records how Jesus witnesses. We saw in chapter three how he ministers to a religious ruler, Nicodemus, a righteous man. How different John chapter four is as he's ministering to an immoral Samaritan. Very, very different situation. But he's John is recording these things, the spirit of God is recording the character and the ministry of Christ so that we might learn how to do better at that. But it would be the devil's goal that you never share your faith. And by the way, you wind up with, as I do, endless excuses as to why we shouldn't.”
65s
#SalvationByGrace
“That my salvation isn't based on what I've done. It's based on what your son did. Then I can believe in it and receive what I never deserved. Why is it we're so ready to accept it for ourselves but have a hard time dishing it out for other people? It's my nature. And from the Jews come the messiah. Abraham, in your seed. Singular. Read Galatians. In your seed, that's the messiah. All the families of the earth will be blessed. Hey. God's not done with the Jews, and he's not done with you. He still loves them. He still loves you. By the way, he doesn't love them more than he loves you. And they're not saved because they're Jewish. And you're not saved because you attend Calvary Chapel. God has no grandchildren, no second cousins. You need to be born again.”

#TrophyOfGrace
“The Jews aren't special because they're virtuous people. God says, didn't choose you because you're just so righteous. I chose you because you're so rebellious. You've got a stiff neck. What better what better choice would it be to choose you and show my grace that everybody will know if you can forgive them? I guess there's some hope for me. Isn't that exactly what Paul said? Chief sinner, why? So that you can realize there's hope for you? Why did God choose you? Well, you say, I've been I thank you for pointing out that he chose me. So that in the ages to come, read Ephesians, you're a trophy of grace forever and eternity. You might go, you wanna know that I'm gracious? Look at fill in your name.”

#WitnessLikeChrist
“So how do you minister to a dodger? That's what she is. And one who wants to take a detour and one who wants to make a delay. Put this down. There are four things and we finish. We see how Christ witnesses. First of all, he establishes contact by asking her for water. Something that was simple to do, was right in front of just everyday water. You establish contact, he asked for water. Secondly, he stimulates her curiosity by offering his living water. She doesn't know exactly what he means, where he gets that. She's interested in it. So establish contact. He just talks to her about water. He stimulates her curiosity by offering her living water. Then put this down, he confronts her with her sin, doesn't ignore her sin. He confronts her with her sin and her living situation. And then finally, he concentrates her on who he is because that's where every road has to go. That's why that's why Philip takes that Ethiopian eunuch who happens to be in Isaiah 53, and from that verse, he preaches Jesus. Make a beeline to Jesus wherever you start. But he finally concentrates her on who he is, and he reveals he is the one she's been looking for all along. Let's pray.”
