The measure the standard of my action should be how I would like others to respond and act towards me and so we have the Golden Rule whatsoever you would that men should do to you do ye even so to them called the Golden Rule do unto others as you would have them to do unto you. [00:05:34]

Buddha don't do to others which you don't want them to do to you Jesus do for others what you would like them to do for you so Buddha put it in the negative but Jesus put it in the positive and this is how it then works out in life. [00:07:01]

The negative of Buddha would keep me from slandering you because I don't want you to slander me it would keep me from saying mean things about you because I don't want you to say mean things about me on the positive as Jesus said whatsoever you would that men should do unto you then do likewise unto them. [00:07:26]

Basically the Bible teaches us correctly that we sow and we reap in kind that whatsoever a man sth that shall he also reap it's the law of nature when we plant an apricot seed we expect an apricot tree to grow out of that seed we reap in kind it is the law of Life. [00:11:29]

If I am sowing constant Discord my life is going to be filled with constant Discord if I am hypercritical and constantly judging others people are going to be hypercritical of me and constantly judging me if I am merciful and forgiving to others then they are more apt to be merciful and forgiving of Me. [00:12:22]

Jesus tells us that in the measure that we meet it out it will be measured uh to us again uh in other words uh what you dish out will be dished back to you so in looking at this command of Jesus we must ask the question how do I want people to respond to me how do I want people to treat me. [00:12:57]

Jesus in giving that us this command then as we would that men should do unto us we should do unto them as he commands us this is this is what Christianity is all about this is the motivation for us to go around doing good helping others because as I would that men should do to me that's what I should be doing for them. [00:16:32]

If you do this you will be keeping the law and the prophets if you'll just do for others what you would like to have them do for you you will be fulfilling the law and the prophets this rule will lead you into righteous living the kind of living that God wants us to live. [00:18:05]

Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart with all thy soul and with all thy mind this is the first and the great commandment and the second is like unto the first Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself on these two Commandments hang all the law and the prophets. [00:19:18]

If I am doing for you what I would like you to do for me then I am showing and displaying Love Actually it's interesting that uh we are to love our neighbor as ourself now Jesus correctly assumes that you love yourself we've had some ridiculous teaching uh in the churches of late. [00:21:02]

This is the heart and the essence of Christianity this is the heart and the essence of the Bible it it's wonderful how Jesus just sort of Cuts right down to the heart of the issue and you see laws are only for unprincipled people people with high principles do not need a law laws are only for unprincipled people. [00:23:48]

I want to be obedient I want to live to please him and this is what pleases him and thus I ask Lord help me help me Lord not to respond in Anger when I am dealt with in Anger help me not to react in a negative way but Lord help me that I might reach out that I might love love love Lord as you love. [00:29:51]
