Sermon Summary

Romans 12:1 calls God’s people to offer their whole everyday lives as a living and holy sacrifice, not just a Sunday morning song or a twenty-minute worship set. Worship is not filler, background music, or the warm-up before the real thing. Worship is surrender in sleeping, eating, working, driving, sitting at home, and walking through every kind of pressure.

God moves when His people worship in faith and obedience. Joshua and Israel shouted at Jericho because God had already said, “I have given you,” while the wall was still standing. Jehoshaphat put singers at the front of the army because the battle was not Judah’s but God’s. Paul and Silas sang at midnight while beaten, bruised, and chained, and God shook the prison so that every door opened and every chain fell off.

Worship is not based on what physical eyes can see. Worship agrees with what God has said before the wall comes down, before the enemy turns back, and before the chains fall off. The wall may still be real, the battle may still hurt, and anxiety may still be loud, but worship refuses to let fear have the loudest voice.

God may bring outward breakthrough, healing, freedom, and miracles, but He often strengthens, equips, corrects, and brings peace inside the person before circumstances change. Worship is not a magical formula to make God do something; worship draws near to God and puts the heart back in the right posture to hear and obey Him.

A living sacrifice chooses worship when pressure hits. A living sacrifice does not make God the last resort after calling everybody else, complaining, or letting fear run wild. God is God, and people are not. Worship puts the battle in His hands, lets Him change what needs changing inside, and gives His people strength to walk through what they cannot control.

We see from the three examples that I gave that Jericho learned to worship while the wall is still standing. Jehoshaphat learned and the Israelites learned that you worship while the enemy is still coming at you. Paul and Silas learned to worship while the chains were still on. regardless of how we feel in a moment, we still have to worship him.”

Worship is how we fight. if you don't remember anything today, this is what I want you to remember. This is what I really want you to write down and get in your heart.
