#GodsMasterpiece
“``And for those of us in the room who are followers of Jesus, what this shows us is that because I'm following Jesus, I am now seen as something that God is working in. My life is a masterpiece according to him. Another translation says, we are God's handiwork. He is doing stuff in our lives, meaning we are really important to God. And the second part of that is equally as true, God has really important things for us to do. And understanding those two things help us get a better idea about what our purpose actually can be.”

#TrustTheShepherd
“So the shepherd, depending on the size of the flock, depending on weather conditions, depending on how many other flocks have been up that hill, would lead the the sheep up this hillside in different ways. Right? If you can imagine, one shepherd, however many sheep are in a flock, I don't know, a lot, one sheep's gonna go up this little cutout and he's gonna leap on this ledge and he's gonna go up the hill that way. Another sheep is maybe gonna follow a different kind of path. And no matter what they're where they're going or how they're getting up the hill, they're still following the shepherd. So I think when we're thinking about the question, am I living the life that I was meant to? That's really important for us to remember to help us avoid the comparison, but also to remember that when it gets rocky or when it maybe doesn't look like we thought it would, as long as we're following the voice of the shepherd, that it's really helpful.”

#DiscoverYourGoodWorks
“But this is cool. So we understand what it means that God loves us and we're trying to love others in the same way, and that brings us to the second part of the the passage we're looking at today. Ephesians two ten, so we are God's masterpiece. He created us anew in Christ Jesus so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. And I read that and I'm thinking, oh, that sounds good, but where's that list? God, is that at the end of the Bible where there's a list just for me where you let me know what those good works are? Like, it says he planned them long ago. He knows what they are. How do I determine what those good works look like?”

#HardToSeeMyWorth
“Honestly, when I read that verse, it's really hard for me to, instill that in my heart for myself. When I'm thinking of words to describe myself or even how the Lord sees me, Masterpiece isn't on the list, maybe top 50 if we're lucky. But it's really interesting. I was thinking about this. I've been praying about it. I've been meditating on the scripture. It's something I do wholeheartedly believe for other people. Obviously, as a youth pastor, we have students coming up all the time, so encouraging them to see themselves, the way that God does. This is a very helpful and encouraging verse that I 5000% believe for them. Like, if Riley came to me and she was struggling in an area, yes, I believe you are God's masterpiece. It's easy to see value and purpose in other people, but when it comes to myself, at least, it's harder.”

#MentorshipMatters
“Yeah. I think, for me, one of the things that comes to my mind, first and foremost, is mentorship and the importance of that. I think it's just because of my current role here. I I see the value and, the life change that mentorship So that's kind of where I would really kind of, challenge and encourage you guys today. Whatever season of life you're in, there are generations or generation, depending on where you're at, behind you that need you. They need to know that there's something on the other side of the season that they're in, even if it's a good season, but especially if it's a tough season. Every season of life, every generation, it can say, yeah, this is really tough. I'm in this season or this is really tough in when I grew up or whatever the whatever it is. But mentorship is so vital as a church body, as people who love the Lord because people want to hear that they matter, that what they're doing is important.”

#GuidedAlongManyPaths
“Our campus pastor made a really great point when it comes to verse three that says, he guides me along the right paths. Now it's really important that we notice it doesn't say he guides me along the right path. It says he guides me along the right paths. When I was reading that and you're visualizing it, what did you see in your in your brain? If you're anything like me, I saw, something that was very, similar to maybe the Shire, very foresty, picturesque, maybe like some hobbits walking around, like lush, green. And then before me is this beautifully country packed dirt path right in front of me, and it just is like this wonderful country stroll maybe in the Shire. I don't know. If you're anything like me, that's what I saw. Maybe yours is something different, but maybe something similar.”

#PrayForPurpose
“We thank you for this moment where we can talk about this really important question, am I living the life that I'm meant for? A question about purpose, a question about identity. And God, I pray that as we as we leave this place, we'll have a better understanding of what it could look like. Maybe maybe not the answers right now but that's okay. God, give us the ability and the willingness to pursue the answers, to ask honestly, God. Open our eyes to what you have in store for me. These good works, you've already planned for me, God. Help me to know what they are. And when you show them to me, God, give me the boldness to follow, to be a part of that, and God, I pray that I can see myself as you see me, as somebody who's made in your image, someone that you love.”

#WaitAndWatch
“I kid you not. The very next day, coming to work, Doug, our desks are next to each other, and Doug's like, hey. I think I'm gonna move into the group's pastor role. And then I was like, what? Yeah. So then, obviously, you see where we're at now. I'm in the student pastor role. Doug's in the group's pastor role, both doing awesome things that are built for our individual gifts and talents. it was so it was such a profound moment of the Lord confirming it. Even when I didn't know what was gonna happen, I thought I was giving it up. And he was like, no. No. No. Wait and watch. Wait and watch. Wait and watch. And, yeah. So I was so confident moving into the role because of,”
