Sermon Summary

"Today we join with Christ followers all over the world and we celebrate the truth and reality that changes everything. And that truth and reality is this: that Christ Jesus, the Son of God, took on flesh and he took our sin and our brokenness and our rejection of God upon himself through the cross. He died in our place, took our burial and our death upon himself and he has risen from the grave and he lives now and forevermore." [00:00:01] (27 seconds) Edit Clip

"We don't have to go back to the old ways because there is a better way. We don't have to go back to old words because there is a better word. We don't have to go back to old lives because there is a better life that Jesus offers to every single person." [00:04:08] (13 seconds) Edit Clip

"So whether you have been a Christian all of your life, whether this is the first time you walked into church today, or maybe you've had a faith journey in the past, but you've hit hiccups and hindrances and pain and trauma and you have doubts and uncertainties, I want to invite you that no matter where you are, there is an invitation for you to come and encounter the risen Savior today and to receive what he has to give to you because what he has done and what he has spoken continues to have an impact for us, not just in this moment, but forever more." "Friends, Jesus spoke this to a woman who had just lost her brother and was questioning why God wasn't there in the flesh and saying, if you were here, he wouldn't have died. Where have you been? And in the midst of it, Jesus proclaims the promise of the resurrection in that moment and forever more. And so for every single one of us in this room, these words continue to be true. And this can be experienced in our lives, the fullness of his finished work and his resurrection power." [00:06:26] (27 seconds) Edit Clip

"All of us were dead in our sin and in our rejection of God and his ways. All of us were lost in our cravings and our desires of the flesh in this world. All of us were experiencing at one time the penalty of sin, which is death. But God, turn to your neighbor and say, but God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive in Christ even when we were dead in sin. Romans 5 says, Christ demonstrates his love for us even while we were in sin, he died for us." [00:18:38] (31 seconds) Edit Clip

"Whether you're waiting for the resurrection power to meet you in your relationships or your finances or your workplace or in your lostness, in your cravings and desires of the flesh, our God is able to reach into the grave and remind you of his great and extravagant love for you. So how do you let God raise you to life? Receive his love, friends. There is one purpose for your existence. It is to be loved by God. It is to be loved by God. For God so loved that he gave." "The good news of the resurrection is not that God wants to come and give you a half-life or a broken life or some form of life. He wants to give you whole and abundant and holy and eternal life through his promise to you. And here's his promise. He is able to heal what the world can't. And he's able to forgive what others can't. And he's able to reach into those places where you feel stuck and provide freedom to you, where you feel like there's no breakthrough." "Let God redirect you to hope. Let him raise you to life, restore you to wholeness, and then redirect you to hope. Once again, the account that we read is this valley of dry bones, the people of God who are not just metaphorically but literally dead in their sin, in their exile. They are disconnected, disjointed, and in this process of God saving them and raising them to life and piecing them together and offering them wholeness and putting his spirit within them, we read a very interesting descriptive word. They're not just mentioned as lifeless or exiled or disconnected. They are mentioned as hopeless. They're hopeless." [00:27:50] (36 seconds) Edit Clip
