1. "Isn't that a picture of how we struggle through life so often? Like, we're just weighted down, and we're weary, and we're doing it all in our own strength. And we've all had moments like that where we just refuse to acknowledge that we need help. But today, I want to tell you that there's a better way, that Jesus has a better invitation for us today." 2. "We live in a culture, and we cheer on the people that are self-sufficient, the high capacity, the leaders, the ones that make it happen and figure it out. And they've got creative solutions and strategic plans. And we like to build a name for ourselves and then kind of just stand back and look at how awesome we are. But there's going to come a day when the empire that we have built and the legacy that we have left, by the strength of our own self-sufficiency, we're ourselves." 3. "How many of you know that you can be successful and not satisfied? How many of you know that you can be successful but not fruitful? There's this quote by a very successful American actor Jim Carrey and he famously said one time I think everybody should get rich and famous and do everything they ever dreamed of so that they can see it's not the answer. It's not the answer successful does not equal fruitful." [11:11] (30 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

4. "Jesus, he's distinguishing between human achievement and fruitfulness. There's a difference. You might be able to accomplish a lot in your life. You might be able to climb that corporate ladder without Jesus, but there's a fruitfulness in our lives that we are completely incapable of bearing apart from Christ." 5. "The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against those kind of things, there's no law. There is no law on earth that prevents you from being self-controlled. There is no law in any country that prevents someone from being kind. I mean, you look at that, and you're like, who wouldn't want those things to be true about them?" [15:35] (28 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

6. "Jesus wants us to bear much fruit. He says it's to his Father's glory that we would bear much fruit. And a significant component of that is that our lives would be transformed to the character of Christ. That it would become more and more evident in us, that we're connected to Christ. But apart from him, we can't do it." [16:45] (20 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

7. "We can put a man on the moon, but we don't know what to do with the unforgiveness in our hearts. Because there is a fruitfulness, that is far exceeding our capacity. It seems like it should be easier to be a loving person, right? It would be easier just to be a loving person than to do something like build a bridge. Or it would be easier to be kind and gentle than it would be to build a website." [17:25] (31 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

8. "If you'll stay connected to me, if you'll remain in me, then your life will begin to bear much fruit. So see, Jesus is, he's talking with his disciples right before he goes to the cross. And there's this urgency about what he's saying to them. And he's saying, hey guys, listen to me. You're about to bump up against some really difficult times. You're about to hit it up against a crisis. But no matter what happens, no matter what need you face in your life, you'll find the answer in staying connected to me." 9. "As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now, remain in that love. Can you even wrap your mind around this? Jesus is saying, as the Father has loved me, in the same way, and with the same measure, that God the Father loves Jesus, that is how Jesus loves you." 10. "How many times have you purposed in your heart that you're never going to do that again, you're never going to end up in that pit again, you're never going to end up bound by that temptation again and yet you find yourself back in that same exact place a thousand times over friend it's a thousand times to return to the lord he loves you and he wants to welcome you home."
