In these last days, it is vital to prioritize a deep, disciplined, and sincere prayer life. Prayer is not just a ritual but the very means by which you draw near to the heart of God, building relationship and finding strength amid chaos. As the world grows more uncertain, resist the temptation to drift from God; instead, make prayer a daily appointment you keep with earnestness, knowing that communion with God will anchor your soul and guide your steps. [32:58]
1 Peter 4:7
"The end of all things is at hand; therefore be self-controlled and sober-minded for the sake of your prayers." (ESV)
Reflection: What specific time today can you set aside to pray earnestly, making it a non-negotiable appointment with God?
In light of the end times, Scripture calls you to double down on your love for fellow believers, showing deep affection, unity, and practical generosity. This is not a time to isolate or withdraw, but to open your home, share what you have, and support one another cheerfully. Your love for others is a powerful witness to the world, proving that you are Christ’s disciple and strengthening the church to stand firm together. [35:22]
1 Peter 4:8-9
"Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins. Show hospitality to one another without grumbling." (ESV)
Reflection: Who is one fellow believer you can encourage or serve today with a practical act of love or hospitality?
Many will mock the truth and the promise of Jesus’ return, but you are called to live each day with a sense of urgency and expectancy, knowing that nothing stands between now and Christ’s coming. Let this urgency fuel your passion to share Christ’s love, impact others, and not waste a single day, for the time is short and the opportunity to make a difference is now. [43:29]
2 Peter 3:3-4, 8-9
"Knowing this first of all, that scoffers will come in the last days with scoffing, following their own sinful desires. They will say, 'Where is the promise of his coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all things are continuing as they were from the beginning of creation.' ... But do not overlook this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance." (ESV)
Reflection: If you truly believed Jesus could return today, what urgent step would you take to share His love or message with someone in your life?
God calls you to live a life that is holy, godly, and marked by continual repentance, so that you can look forward to Christ’s return with joy and not fear. This means humbling yourself daily, turning from sin, and striving to be pure and blameless, living at peace with God and others. Such a life not only prepares you for the day of the Lord but also brings peace and hope in a world filled with turmoil. [51:40]
2 Peter 3:11-14
"Since all these things are thus to be dissolved, what sort of people ought you to be in lives of holiness and godliness, waiting for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be set on fire and dissolved, and the heavenly bodies will melt as they burn! But according to his promise we are waiting for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells. Therefore, beloved, since you are waiting for these, be diligent to be found by him without spot or blemish, and at peace." (ESV)
Reflection: What is one area of your life where you need to repent or seek peace with God or another person today?
In these challenging times, you are called not to stand alone but to grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ, deeply connected with other believers. Like the mighty redwoods whose roots are intertwined, your faith is strengthened and sustained when you are engrafted into biblical community—sharing burdens, resources, and encouragement. Make it a priority to invest in relationships with other believers, so that together you can stand strong and thrive, no matter what comes. [54:48]
2 Peter 3:17-18
"You therefore, beloved, knowing this beforehand, take care that you are not carried away with the error of lawless people and lose your own stability. But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen." (ESV)
Reflection: What is one intentional step you can take this week to deepen your connection with other believers and grow together in Christ?
Today, we gathered as one church across many locations, united in expectation that God would move among us. In a week marked by tragedy and loss, we remembered the bold faith of Charlie Kirk, whose legacy challenges us to live courageously for Christ, especially in these uncertain times. As we continue our series on the end times, we turned to the practical wisdom of Peter, who speaks directly to how we should live as we await Christ’s return.
Peter’s counsel is refreshingly straightforward. He urges us not to react with panic or reckless decisions, but instead to anchor ourselves in earnest and disciplined prayer. In these last days, our greatest need is to stay close to God’s heart, making prayer a non-negotiable priority. Alongside this, Peter calls us to show deep, sacrificial love for fellow believers—supporting, encouraging, and even sharing our homes and resources with one another. This kind of love, Jesus said, is the mark by which the world will recognize us as His disciples.
Peter also warns that in the end times, scoffers will mock the truth and the promise of Christ’s return, tempting us to complacency or doubt. Yet, God’s apparent delay is not slowness, but patience—His desire is that none should perish, but all would come to repentance. This truth should ignite urgency in us: to live each day as if it could be our last, boldly sharing Christ’s love and message with a world in need.
Peter reminds us that God is both gracious and just. Just as in the days of Noah and Lot, God’s patience has a limit; judgment will come. Therefore, we are called to live holy and godly lives, marked by continual repentance, humility, and a longing for Christ’s return. When we live this way, we can look forward to the day of the Lord with hope, not fear.
Finally, Peter paints a picture of the church as a grove of mighty redwoods—our lives intertwined, supporting one another through every storm. We are called to grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus, never isolating ourselves, but becoming deeply connected with other believers. In these last days, this kind of community is not optional—it is essential for standing firm and shining bright.
1 Peter 4:7-9 (ESV) — > The end of all things is at hand; therefore be self-controlled and sober-minded for the sake of your prayers. Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins. Show hospitality to one another without grumbling.
2 Peter 3:3-14, 17-18 (ESV) — > (Selected verses)
> 3 knowing this first of all, that scoffers will come in the last days with scoffing, following their own sinful desires. 4 They will say, “Where is the promise of his coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all things are continuing as they were from the beginning of creation.” ... 9 The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance. 10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then the heavens will pass away with a roar, and the heavenly bodies will be burned up and dissolved, and the earth and the works that are done on it will be exposed. 11 Since all these things are thus to be dissolved, what sort of people ought you to be in lives of holiness and godliness, 12 waiting for and hastening the coming of the day of God... 14 Therefore, beloved, since you are waiting for these, be diligent to be found by him without spot or blemish, and at peace... 17 You therefore, beloved, knowing this beforehand, take care that you are not carried away with the error of lawless people and lose your own stability. 18 But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
John 13:35 (ESV) — > By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.
Paul then doubles down, though, multiple different times. And we didn't even have time to unpack it all last week. But he doubles down on this in light of the fact that you're living in the last days. Live with urgency. He said, live with an urgency that all would know the good news of Jesus Christ. But he also said, live with an urgency in the way that you pursue God. Because these days aren't going to last forever. And Jesus is coming back. [00:27:08] (26 seconds) #LiveWithUrgency
In light of the fact that Jesus is coming back, he goes straight to the heart of the issue. And he goes, what you need to do is you need to pray more. In fact, he, in fact, he breaks it down with two words. He says, I need you to pray more earnestly and more disciplined. Earnestly and disciplined. I need you to pray more sincerely, but I need you to be disciplined in your prayer. Meaning, like, make a priority out of prayer. Make an appointment with prayer. Keep it. Be disciplined in your prayer. [00:34:18] (31 seconds) #LoveUnitesBelievers
As you show this incredible love, cheerfully, cheerfully share. He goes, look, have people in your home. Share what you have. Meet other believers' needs. He starts there. He goes, look, come alongside of believers and cheerfully give them what you have. Help one another out in these last days that are difficult. [00:36:04] (24 seconds) #DoubleDownOnLove
Peter's saying this to you and me. Hey, in light of the fact we live in the last days, double down in your commitment and in your boldness of love towards God and towards others. This is not a time to back out. This is a time to double down. [00:37:25] (17 seconds) #BoldUntilTheEnd
God doesn't want anyone to perish. So what has he done? He sent his son, Jesus Christ, to die on a cross and to rise again on the third day as an example and as a statement to humanity. I am a God who loves you. I'm a God who made a way for you. I am a God who established relationship with you. And one day my son is returning for those who surrendered their life to him. [00:47:11] (24 seconds) #JudgmentRequiresSurrender
Live holy and godly lives. What does that life look like Peter? He says it looks pure and it looks blameless. Basically here's what Peter's saying to you and me: live a life of repentance. Don't repent once, live a lifestyle of repentance. Keep running back to God on a daily basis. Keep running back to God and keep living humbling yourself before him. Live a holy and a godly life. [00:49:47] (36 seconds) #PeaceWithGodAndOthers
Have your root systems of relationship tangled with others, tied in with others. Oh, don't just associate with them, become them. Let your root system be engrafted with one another so that you can not just survive these days, but you can thrive in these days. And when the winds of change come, and when the winds of chaos come, and when moments like this past week come, and the Bible tells us, unfortunately, more moments like that come, that when they come and the winds blow, you don't topple over, my friends, because you're just one tree siloed, standing there alone, thinking you're so tough. But no, you stand strong, and you stand bold, and you are ferocious in your faith, and you are bold in your faith, because the root system of your heart is entangled with other believers. [00:54:48] (60 seconds) #SurrenderAndGrow
What's not surrendered in your life to Christ? Surrender it now. What's not surrendered? Repent of it now. Now, Endeavor, ever stop growing. Never stop growing. Lean in. Make Sundays a priority. And make a life group a priority. You can still sign up for life groups at all campuses. We're just now signing people up. Find people in the lobby. Go to Mind Your Life Church. Do whatever it takes. Walk through the doors and get into the life of other believers. and engraft yourself in these last days. We're going to need this more than you ever thought you needed it. [00:56:20] (39 seconds)
