When Our Limits Meet God's Limitless Power

The truth that God is limitless comes through camp as something that was expected to be for the students but ended up getting right into the heart of the one leading it. The list of limits was real. Fear, stress, lost sleep, acne, doubts, and the question of being good enough all piled up before the week even started. Human ability had an honest answer, and that answer was no. Christ inside a believer has a different answer, because Christ does not carry the same limits.

The worship became one of the first places God exposed that unbelief. The question had been whether a smaller group of students could really experience worship like a massive camp, whether the artists and leaders and students would get what they deserved. God answered by filling the room as “Great Are You Lord” echoed through the building, and most of the students later said worship was their favorite part. God was showing in plain sight that where two or more are gathered, Christ is in the midst.

The Holy Spirit kept pressing past the limits that unbelief had drawn. During a quiet prayer moment after worship, only two boys came forward at first, and the lies started whispering that the moment had failed. Then Dominique walked up and said he wanted to know what it meant to be a son of God. Christ met him there, and Dominique gave his life to Jesus. Unbelief had limited expectation, not the power of Christ.

Ephesians 3:20 stands over it all: God is able to do immeasurably more than anyone can ask or imagine, according to His power at work within His people.
