#LoveOverHate
“``The church in Ephesus knew what it hated, but they had forgotten how to love. They were better at hating what is evil than loving one another. And this is the bottom line. This is what God will not tolerate, for his church to be called his body but to lack his love. The consequence, we don't get to exist as a church anymore. He will pull the lamp out. We will have to find a church with a lamp to continue on. Sometimes we get hate exactly right. We know what to reject, but we forget how to love.”

#ReturnToFirstLove
“Everything that makes this church, the church in Ephesus and Graceway, everything that makes it a church, not a club, not a social scene, not a seminary where you're here to learn about biblical things only, not a political group, but a church. Everything that makes it a church is about to be taken from them. That's pretty scary. So we gotta ask why. Aren't they the picture of a great church knowing their doctrines and standing against evil and untruth? Not really. Because they're great at knowing what they hate, but they have forgotten who they love. They have forgotten their first love.”

#SpiritNotStructure
“But when we think about other churches that did not make it a hundred and fifty years, there's a lot of things we tend to think about. In fact, we can line our shelves with books about why a church doesn't make it a hundred and fifty years. No newcomers, No young people. No new believers. Bad programs. Well, it's probably because the coffee was weak. Right? Too many changes. Our our again, there's so many reasons. Well, not enough money. And yet, our church our church and many others have been broke and are still around to this day. They are still around to this day. A death of a church doesn't come because of those things. A church dies when God removes their lamp. He might have other plans. The people can still follow him. The people can still worship, but only the spirit of God himself and encounter with our living savior, that's what makes us a church.”

#LoveWhatGodLoves
“Well, the truth is I'm a lot better at knowing what I hate. I'm not always as good at knowing what I love. I'm not always as good as at loving. Right? The comment of from Jesus to the church in Ephesus in Revelation, they hate the Nicolatians, and then that's great. But they've lost their first love, and it resonates with me. I know often what I hate, what I reject, what I do not agree with. I don't always remember who I'm supposed to love, who I love, and what's really important. Sometimes we're better at knowing what to hate, what we hate, and we've forgotten who we love. The Western Christian church often knows a lot more about what it hates, setting itself apart from the things that are wrong, what we reject. It often knows more about that than who we love and returning to our first love, to God's first love, which is for us.”
