#GospelTurnsTemporaryEternal
“``And so I think to put it really simply as we tie it into the power of the gospel, and remember, the gospel means good news, is this, that the gospel is the power to turn the temporary into the eternal. It's the power to turn what is temporary into what is eternal. No longer do we look at our lives as just a blip on the radar, but we start to see that what we do here on earth has an eternal significance. The gospel turns a vapor into an everlasting river. The way that you love, the way that you sacrifice, the way that you serve, the way you share the gospel, it's not wasted. God takes ordinary acts of faithfulness and he folds them into his eternal purposes and his eternal plans. So what that means is that then the gospel doesn't just prepare you to die, it gives you a reason to truly live.”

#ShortLifeMatters
“And so he says, the the the point at at a fundamental level, the point that the Bible teaches us is that life is short, but our short lives matter. Life is short, but our short lives matter. That what you do, who you are, has significance. That no matter your status in society, no matter your skill set, no matter your relationship status, your life matters. It makes a difference. Your days are not meaningless. When Moses prays for wisdom, he's he's asking God again to show him how he can live life well. And if life were meaningless, he wouldn't make that request. But instead, he knows David knows that our lives mean something. So he says, Lord, help me to understand the number of my days so that I may live wisely.”

#SurrenderAndReceiveLife
“But, of course, that that only happens if you have given yourself to him. If you believe, if you trust him, if you say, god, I don't wanna live my life on my own, but I want you. To be given yourself to him. Because only if you've chosen to surrender to the Lord does God impart his life into us. He will let us go our own way. Right? He'll say, look, if you don't want me, you can go your own way, but you will face both life and death alone. He says, but it doesn't have to be that way. So you can seek the Lord, you can cast your worries and your sins on him because he cares for you. And in exchange for your life as you surrender it to him, God gives you his life for yours. So you surrender your life to him, God gives his life for yours. And let me tell you, there is no better trade off to make than that.”

#FearNotDeath
“And so you can live differently knowing you have a banquet awaiting you. That, again, the gospel makes a difference now or makes a difference in our future, but it also makes a difference now because it allows us to live differently. The second thing second takeaway I'd encourage you to sit with is not to fear death. Do not fear death. Death can feel like a scary thing. It's the it's the great veil that we all will one day pass through. It's the veil that everybody up to this point has already gone through. But in Christ, death is not the end. It becomes a doorway. It becomes a doorway for us to experience life to its greatest extent. To know Jesus is to know the author of life. So in a way, death actually gets us closer to life itself, not farther away. That is the irony, the beautiful irony.”
