#IfHe'sLordHeLeads
“And really, that's a hard question. I want you to really think about it. That really is a hard question because he's still asking it. Why do we call him lord if he's not leading us? Why do we call him king if we're still making all the decisions? Why do you sing about his throne? But never leave ours. Mhmm. There is only one king.”

#PickUpYourCross
“He wants us to take up our cross. he said, follow me. Yes. He didn't say follow the news. He didn't say follow the popular opinion. He said, follow me. He didn't say it's negotiable. He didn't say you get to vote. He just said, follow me. Yeah. Come on. That's why maybe that's why so many of us struggle in our walk with Jesus. We don't mind him being a savior. We just don't want him to be king. We want him to heal us, but and we want him to bless us. We want him to open doors for us, but the moment he starts telling us how to live, the moment he says you got to forgive, the moment he tells you how to love, the moment he says you got to deny yourself, hallelujah, then we got problems.”

#WhoGetsFinalWord
“In other words, what he was saying to Eve was, who says God gets the final word? The fruit wasn't the issue. The tree wasn't the issue. Authority was the issue. Adam and Eve reached for something that was never theirs. were re they weren't reaching for fruit. we're reaching, and we've been reaching ever since. That's why every generation keeps making the same mistake. We keep looking for someone to save us while refusing to allow God to rule over our lives.”

#WhoGetsToBeKing
“In all of my years of serving God, have come to understand one of the greatest battles that we will fight will never be against the devil. It will be over who we give permission to to rule our lives. Every conflict in scripture from Genesis to Revelation started with one question. gets to be king? Every generation has fought the same battle, and not one generation has been exempt. So we all as a body and as in this world have to make one decision. Who is going to be our king and what kingdom we're going to dwell in?”

#CrossClaimsThrone
“Yeah. Wars over territory are not really about territory. They're about authority because territory is simply the evidence of who won the battle. Mhmm. And that's why the cross was never about nails being driven in our savior's hand. It was never about the spear that was thrust in his side. It was always about a throne. Who has the right to rule?”

#ChildWhoRules
“look at this. Satan tried to remove God from the throne in heaven, but he was kicked out. That's right. And now here we are in humanity with all our ingenuity, our accomplishments, our achievement, our technology trying to remove God from the throne just as Satan did in heaven. Every act of rebellion, you know what we say, I'll decide what's right. I'll decide my own path. I'll rule my own life. I'll do what I want to do. Rebellion. Isaiah said, God's answer to all of humanity's rebellion, he answered it one one extraordinary gift. didn't give us a new law. He didn't give us a new system, and he didn't give us a new earthly ruler, but he gave us a child.”

#DontBlessYourOwnWay
“We've been trying to govern our own lives. You can say hallelujah right there. We've been trying to write our own rules. We've been trying to determine our own direction, and then asking God to bless these decisions that he told us not to make. Yes. Somewhere along the way, we've convinced ourselves, glory to God, that we want God to bless our decisions. We want God to help us do what we need to do, but we won't allow him to be king over our lives. Oh god.”

#ThroneOfYourHeart
“whatever sits and whoever sits on that throne of your heart will eventually rule everything else. It'll rule your decisions. It'll rule your values. It'll rule your priorities. It rules your relationship. It'll even determine how you seek God. Yeah. So many of us are tired. We're we're just worn out. We're tired and don't even know why we're tired. We keep fighting battles. God never intended for us to fight because we've been trying to have authority over our own life. We sit in the place that was only attended and meant for Jesus Christ.”
