#HeartPostureMatters
“``You know, the Azusa Street revival wasn't perfect at all. It receives a lot of criticism from scholars today, but what it reminds me of is that perfection is not a prerequisite to experience a move of God, but our heart posture is. I want to say that again. Perfection is not a prerequisite to experience a move of God, but our heart posture is. So can I ask you, what is your level of expectancy today? When we gather, when we pray, do you see it as a check the box activity, or are you acknowledging that this could be the moment, like in the book of Acts, that could change everything, like Azusa Street. This could be the moment where the power of God can move on us. When we engage with God, oh, we have to expect the extraordinary.”

#ExpectExtraordinary
“But what I am saying is if we serve an extraordinary god who moves in extraordinary ways, we should never enter the presence of almighty god with the thought of just checking a weekly box, a routine. I did church. Cool. We should never enter this place. We should believe that every moment that we're in the presence of God, wherever that may be, is an opportunity for radical life change. Amen? We should believe that we should raise the level of our expectancy of what God can and will do, even if you can't see it being done. Amen?”

#WhatIfToday
“So here's my here's my request for us. Let us raise our expectancy and expect the extraordinary. And I just wanna leave you with this one last question. What if? What if? Get that question in your mind. What if? What if what God wants to do isn't some far off place, some far off time, but what if it's right here? What if it's today? What if the next great move of God doesn't start in some big stadium or in some big platform with some famous preacher? What if it begins at some backwoods church in Bridgewater that decided not to treat God like a predictable routine, but decided to practice extraordinary prayer, decided to practice extraordinary unity, decided to practice extraordinary surrender and letting go of every barrier.”

#UnitedForGodMove
“Here's a question. What if we, with all of our different backgrounds, with all of our different church experiences, became unified in our desire to see God move? What if it what if we can just lay down what we think we know, how we saw it done before, and we could just be unified with this desire to see God move? What will happen? What will happen when we decide that the move of God is more important than how we think it should look.”

#RevivalOfTheSpirit
“You know, sometimes, we treat the things of the spirit like fancy add ons to our faith. Right? Like fancy accessories to our faith. But here's the thing. Jesus told the disciples to wait there because they needed the power of the Holy Spirit to do what he was calling them to do. Jesus said that they need it. And guess what? We need it as well. If we're going to be a church today that isn't conformed to the culture of the world that is centered around self worship, we need it. If we're going to be the church that can spread the gospel to the world, we're we we need the holy spirit. If we're gonna live lives that just show the peace and joy that Christ offers us, right, and not are not succumbed to the stresses of the world. We need the revival of the spirit. We need to be inspired. We need to be empowered. We need to be awakened by the extraordinary move of his spirit. We need a revival of the spirit.”

#ReleaseEveryBarrier
“And this is what we see also in Azusa Street. Right? Here's a question. What did it cost the sons of slaves and the sons of slave owners to sit next to each other in prayer. I think it required a surrender of what their families thought of them. It required a surrender of what their friends and their neighbors thought of them. This is extraordinary surrender. It's being able and being willing to release every barrier we hold so tightly that we so we can be receptive to however God chooses to move. And this, I just want to ask you this, what barriers may you be holding on to?”

#SurrenderYourReputation
“We need to practice extraordinary surrender. You know, when Jesus tells his disciples to wait in Jerusalem, he didn't tell them exactly how long, he didn't tell them on this specific day, he didn't tell them exactly. He didn't tell them exactly what will happen. The disciples had to totally surrender their understanding. Right? They just had to stay there in obedience. They had no idea what was going to happen. Right? When the spirit poured out on them, and they began to speak loudly in other tongues they didn't understand, there had to be a surrender of their reputation. They couldn't be thinking what of the outside people would think about me when they hear me speaking like this. If they would have thought of that, then the church wouldn't have had the conversion of people they had that day if they were thinking about what others thought. Right? So they had to they had to surrender even their reputation.”

#PrayerAsPriority
“They did see fervent prayer being modeled by Jesus himself. The bible teaches us that Jesus prayed so fervently. Right? It it was like drops of blood coming from him. So they knew what fervent prayer looked like, and so this is what they modeled. And I believe, church, if we want revival as a as a church, we gotta get to a place where prayer isn't just something we do in between everything else we got going on in life. Right? But we need prayer to become an intentional fixture in our lives. This was the heart of the Azusa Street revivals that we see.”
