#John316Love
“And so it is good for us, I think, be reminded of John three sixteen in this season of Lent because this is a season of repentance and reflection, self examination. And we do that in our journey towards the cross, preparing ourselves for the resurrection hope we receive on Easter. And at the very core of this journey, the very core of our relationship with our creator, John three sixteen reminds us this is all centered not on anger or wrath, not on obligation or our own religious performance, but it's centered around love.”

#RootedInLove
“And rooted in that love of God that he encounters through Jesus, Nicodemus is transformed to step out boldly in his community and so are we. Because I think when we remain rooted in receiving the love that God has for us, instead of remaining rooted in shame and anger and frustration, we open ourselves up to a new way of being. And so maybe we start like Nicodemus with our curiosity. We encounter Jesus in ways we aren't sure about, we don't know how it might affect the rest of our life, and we might for a time feel content to sort of stay like Nicodemus is at the start of our our passage.”
