[Arthur] Well the idea of going to hell and Death in hell being cast into the lake of fire I was in the church but I wasn't saved I didn't know Christ as Savior but when I found him then I got the answer. [00:01:22]
[Tony] I remember the times around the table I remember when you were having devotions we would always pray before we ate and you'd have devotions with us I remember how serious you were about the Bible I remember in the middle of the week you would even have people over to have Bible study you know and I remember always bringing up the Word of God to me and to my siblings and you know you were pretty strict you were pretty strict [Arthur] the Bible's strict free [Tony] Yeah well so we couldn't get away with much and I remember the spankings I remember the sessions but I also respected the fact that you held to that standard and you didn't negotiate it with me or my brothers or my sisters so but that's where I got my excitement about the Word of God. I remember a couple of times when you had to work and you couldn't be there on Wednesday night Bible study and I would walk which was a long walk to to the assembly I mean that's probably five miles and I would walk when you couldn't be there because I'd gotten so excited about the Word of God that was the first opportunity I got to speak too so a lot of that I remember. [Arthur] And you'd always try to be first of all in everything you did in school you'd hold your hand up first you maybe you didn't even know the answer, your hand was up you always want to be first you want to be quarterback you always wanted to be head of everything [Tony] Well that's because I'm a leader [Arthur] But you wasn't the head of me [Tony] You're loosening up now, okay But you can learn from your son right? [Arthur] Not at that time. [00:03:28]
[Tony] What with all the changes that have taken place in the world you've seen you know through your life a lot of changes does that make you more worried about the children and grandchildren and great-grandchildren? [Arthur] Not worried, but I just pray more, itemize my prayers and concern about them I do what I can to help to them that's all I can do. [00:04:02]
