#LightInDarkness
“That means Christmas wasn't God stepping into something small. It was God bringing eternal light into real darkness, into the darkness of this world that we walk through and we face every single day. You see, Bethlehem wasn't the end of the story. It was the ignition point for us. It was the moment that light entered a broken world and refused, refused to stay contained. John says that the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness could not overcome it. Not then, not now, not ever.”

#LightWalksWithUs
“Maybe you feel like you've seen glimpses of the light of Christ over Christmas, but you've never known what it means to stay connected to it. Well, John is showing us that this light isn't an idea. The light is a person who wants to walk with you. This is so important, church. The light doesn't just change us. It sends us. Because God didn't put His light in us so we could hide it away. He put it in us for a world that desperately needs it.”

#JesusBeforeTime
“Before there were stars in the sky, before there was a world to step into, Jesus already was. Sometimes, especially around Christmas time, we focus on the Christ child as we should. But then, when Christmas moves on, we kind of just move on, and we don't remember that we serve a Trinitarian God, Father, Son, and Spirit. In other words, the Jesus that was incarnated at Christmas always was, even before time itself. He always was.”

#BethlehemTheBeginning
“So Christmas isn't meant to be a moment we admire once a year. It's the beginning of a journey God invites us into. A light that comes to dwell with us, to walk with us, and to keep shining through us. Well, that raises a question for us. If Bethlehem is the moment the light came into the world, how does that light keep shining in our lives once Christmas is over?”

#PurposefulPresence
“They're craving it. Here's a big statement for you all. Christ placed His light in us for their sake. Christ placed His light in us for the sake of others. Your presence is not accidental. What I mean is where you are, not here in church, where you live, where you work, where you live life, is not accidental. You have a purpose. The gospel conversations that you have carry weight.”
