If we don't intentionally shape our families spiritually, I said this last week, culture. Culture will shape them instead. Because culture is always discipling. It doesn't stop. Something is always teaching our children what matters, what success means, where identity comes from, where truth is, what worship looks like. Which means every family is already being spiritually formed by something. The question is who is leading them? [00:54:57] (37 seconds)  #ShapeFaithNotCulture Download clip

One incredible encounter changes the direction of an entire family. Never underestimate what God can do through a person who decides to lead spiritually. One praying mother, a faithful father, a praying grandmother, one student who gets serious about their faith and their walk with the Lord and begins to lead in their home by example. God can use one surrendered life to make an impact on an entire household. That impacts a church, that impacts the community and the nation and the world around it. Let your family watch you worship. You're not doing it for show, you're doing it for modeling and example and leadership. Let them see you in repentance and humbling yourself. Let them see generosity lived out in your time and in your talent and in your treasures. Let them see this being shaped consistently. Your children don't need perfect parents, they need authentic ones because your family can't follow a faith that you don't lead. [01:08:30] (31 seconds)  #ModelFaithAtHome Download clip

Never underestimate the power of praying parents and grandparents. There are many of you today who are praying for children who are lost and running far from God. Can I encourage you today, don't stop praying? Don't give up. Keep praying and long for that day when the moment where the earth shakes because you know that the same God who shook the prison for Paul and Silas and freed them and made this transformation happen for the jailer and his family is the same God who can shake hearts today.
