Kingdom Transfer: Praising God and Growing in Faith

Paul’s opening words in Ephesians 1 push God’s people past information and into transformation through application. The kingdom transfer that happens in Christ means rescued people are not merely pulled out of darkness, but brought into the Father’s family. Christ gives a new King, a new identity, and a new way to walk. God’s grace is not sprinkled out in tiny drops; God lavishly pours it out on chosen, sanctified, adopted, accepted, forgiven, redeemed, and blessed children.

Psalm 103 gives the right response: “I will praise.” Praise cannot be dependent on feelings, circumstances, or whether life feels easy that day. God’s character stays good when life gets hard, and the resurrection proves Jesus is who He said He is and can do what He said He can do. The storm does not determine the outcome; God does. Christ slept in the boat because the waves were never bigger than His authority, and Christ still hears His children when they call.

Mature faith grows deep roots in Christ rather than simply growing old in church. Paul commends the Ephesians for strong faith in the Lord Jesus and love for all God’s people. Faith becomes shaky when eyes stay fixed on the storm, on people, or on church hurt. Jesus remains the author and finisher of faith, and He reaches for people who have started sinking because they took their eyes off Him.

The love of God’s family becomes a little example of heaven on earth. Christ’s people are not called to be perfect, obnoxious, or better than everybody else. Grace-filled family remembers, “If it weren’t but for the grace of God,” and chooses restoration over grudges, hard conversations over disconnection, and fighting for each other rather than with each other. The Lamb, not an elephant or a donkey, remains King.

God’s family also calls attenders to get attached, planted, and positioned to grow through groups and serving. Salvation begins with Jesus because sin leaves people unable to find their own way home. Jesus died instead of sinners, rose again, and invites each person to believe and accept Him by faith. Those who say yes to Christ become children of God and begin walking in the life, truth, and hope found only in Him.
