Day 1: When Doubt Whispers, Look to His Works

When uncertainty crettches at the soul, Jesus points not to abstract arguments but to tangible evidence: the blind see, the lame walk, the dead rise. His miracles are signposts declaring His identity. Doubt withers when we fix our gaze on Christ’s power to restore broken bodies and broken lives. The same hands that opened deaf ears still open weary hearts. Blessed are those who let His deeds silence their fears. [16:38]

The blind receive their sight, the lame walk, lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have good news preached to them. And blessed is the one who is not offended by me.

Day 2: The Weight of Unrepentant Eyes

Unrepentance isn’t ignorance—it’s seeing the light but clinging to shadows. Jesus’ warnings to Chorazin and Bethsaida echo still: revelation demands response. Grace ignored becomes a millstone. Day 3: Wisdom’s Song in a Drunkard’s Feast

Jesus dined with sinners, not to endorse sin but to expose the pride of those who labeled Him a “glutton.” True wisdom isn’t measured by moral posturing but by lives transformed. The Father’s wisdom sings in recovered addicts, reconciled marriages, and prodigals welcomed home. What the world calls compromise, heaven calls victory. [06:22]

Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Day 5: Boasting in the God Who Chooses the Weak

Sermon Summary

Matthew 11 gives three clear places to go when doubt, sin, and exhaustion hit the soul: look to Jesus, repent before Jesus, and rest in Jesus. John the Baptist, even from prison, asks whether Jesus really is the One to come. Jesus does not give John a vague answer or send him somewhere else. Jesus points to what can be heard and seen: blind eyes opened, lame people walking, lepers cleansed, dead raised, and poor people hearing good news. Jesus’ works show that the Messiah is here, and doubt is answered by looking again at who Jesus is and what Jesus has done.

Jesus honors John as more than a prophet, the one who declared that the Messiah had arrived. Pride and self-righteousness can leave a person spiritually blind even while the works of God are right in front of them. The Father, however, reveals the kingdom to little children, to those who know they need forgiveness, redemption, salvation, and a Savior. Salvation is not self-initiated. God opens blind eyes, awakens dead hearts, and gives faith as a gift of grace so that no one boasts except in the Lord.

Jesus finally gives the weary soul an invitation that reaches deeper than physical sleep: “Come to me.” His rest means rest from striving, self-condemnation, self-preservation, self-salvation, and self-exaltation. Humility is not thinking poorly of oneself. Humility is thinking rightly about God’s greatness and rightly about personal need. Jesus is gentle and lowly in heart, and his easy yoke frees exhausted people who have worn themselves out trying to carry what only he can bear.
