#FreedomInChrist
“``I just wanna be very clear. When if you want freedom in your life, trust Christ. When we trust Christ, that's where we find freedom. American freedom American freedom says this. It says, no one can tell me what to do. Christian freedom, freedom in Christ says this. It says, sin no longer gets to dictate my life. There's a difference that we have in those. Our rebellion is personal. We rebel against God. We rebel against his voice. If you were here last Sunday, we taught on Psalm 81. And in Psalm 81, God said, would you please just listen to my voice? And that's you and I. God is asking us, would you listen to my voice? I wanna speak to you. He wants us to serve him as king because that is where we find true freedom.”

#CommandsAreGuardrails
“We often treat God's commands like prison bars when they are actually guardrails. God has put his commands in place to protect us. They are not designed to hinder us. They are designed to keep us on the path that gives you and I life. And when we throw off God's authority in our life, we don't become free. We become ruled by something else.”

#RefugeInTheLord
“Blessed, joyful, happy are those who take refuge in the Lord. What a contrast. The Psalm starts out with people, nations raging against God, plotting against him, trying to break off the so called chains that they thought. And God concludes and he says, blessed blessed are are those those who who take take refuge refuge in in me. Me. You and I are invited to take refuge in God. And I want you to see this beautiful thing from this passage. God takes people who live in rebellion to him. He invites them to place their faith in Jesus, and ultimately, we find refuge in the king. We find freedom in him. We leave our ways and we worship him. He he doesn't invite us to rule following. He invites us to worship.”

#SubmissionFindsFreedom
“In the second psalm, it pulls back the curtain, and it reveals that every person, leader, king, nation, and culture is constantly trying to push God out of the picture. It's just what happens in life. People believe that freedom will be found in removing God from their lives. And the psalm invites you and I to explore this question. What if the one we're trying to escape is the one who can save us? What if the one that we're trying to push away is actually the one who can help us find freedom? Freedom? What if submission is not the enemy, but it's the place that we find freedom?”

#HeavenNotShaken
“I want you to imagine a camera. Imagine it's like the opening of a movie scene, and this camera, like, comes down and pans on the earth. It it goes through a street. It it sees nations raging and people fighting and wars. And then imagine it zooms up into heaven, and God is just seated on his throne. He's not bothered. He's not pacing the throne room. He he hasn't even got up from his throne because that is how comfortable he is. Earth can be in an uproar, and heaven heaven says this is not a state of emergency.”

#DecideToFollowJesus
“If you're taking notes while you write this down, everyone must decide whether to resist god's king or take refuge in him. Every single one of us, you and I have to make a decision. Will we resist God's king or will we take refuge in him? What does it mean? It means that we trust Jesus fully. It means that we align ourself with him. It means that we tell others about our commitment to following Christ. And here's the coolest part. There's a blessing in doing that. Let me read verse 12 again.”

#JesusExampleOfObedience
“Jesus understood what submission to the father meant. Jesus didn't live a life of rebellion. The tough thing is that immediately after after Jesus' baptism, he goes into the desert and he fasts for forty days and forty nights. And at the end of that time, the enemy comes. We know him as Satan or the devil. And he tries to get in there and and he tries to challenge the identity of Jesus that his father had just affirmed. Satan plants another seed of doubt again. He says, if you are the son of God, do this. The enemy tries to offer all of the kingdoms of the world to Jesus without going to the cross. He tries to offer him all of this power and authority. And Jesus says, I will not compromise on the plan that the father and I have done. Jesus gives you and I an example of remaining obedient.”

#GospelForEveryone
“Jesus went to the cross so that all nations would know him. Jesus went to the cross so that every single one of us can be in relationship with him. Jesus went to the cross so I could be in relationship with with him. Him. Jesus went to the cross so you could be in relationship with him. Jesus went to the cross so that your neighbor could find freedom and hope. Jesus went to the cross so that your boss could trust him. Jesus went to the cross so that your crazy uncle could find salvation. When the bible says that the gospel is for everyone, it means the gospel is for everyone. All nations, all people.”
