#SeeJesusEveryday
“``And it begs the question from us. If these disciples could have walked all the way from Jerusalem to Emmaus and not recognize Jesus, is it possible that every single day, Jesus is in front of our face and we don't recognize him. Well, of course, it's possible. In fact, it's true. That's the story of the walk to Emmaus is that Jesus is by our side every day and we do not recognize it.”

#SeeChristInEveryone
“Just think how our lives would change if we were willing to see the Christ in the stranger, Willing to see the Christ in our friends but also our enemies, willing to see Jesus Christ in anyone and everyone around us. If we were willing to have the courage to look at those people in the world and say, stay with us. Abide right here so that we can see Christ in you and you can see Christ in us. If we did that, we might just find Living Christ is right here with us. But you and I know the truth. Living Christ is with us. Living Christ never left. To the glory of God.”

#BlessedInBrokenness
“Jesus doesn't just come to those who know their Bible but Jesus comes to those who have abandoned the church. Jesus doesn't just come to those who are faithful and strong but Jesus comes to those who are desolate and downtrodden. Jesus is around us and with us at all times. In fact, she says that the lesson of this passage, the lesson of this story is the blessedness in our brokenness. That even in our brokenness, we are blessed. Even in the midst of our brokenness and our frailty, when our hearts are broken wide open, even then, we are blessed with the presence of Christ.”

#LookForChristInOthers
“The Benedictine monks have a very interesting definition of hospitality. Hospitality for the Benedictine monks is to look for Jesus Christ in the other. That's what it means to be hospitable. To look in their eyes and say, Jesus Christ is within this person. I wonder how our relationships would change if we just had that courage to look for Christ in the other. I know it would require some courage, but it would also provide an opportunity for me to take a chance and build a relationship with someone that I would have always held at arm's length before. It might just change you, and it might just change the world around us.”
