1. "And so we see this throughout the Scripture. In the book of James, we're encouraged not to be double-minded. Paul tells us in Romans, don't be conformed any longer to the pattern of the world, but what? To be transformed by the renewing of your mind. In Corinthians, we see that we're supposed to take every thought captive and make it obedience to Christ. In Proverbs, we're reminded that as a man thinks in his mind, so he is."

2. "Thinking like Jesus causes you to live like he lives. Thinking like Jesus thinks causes you to live like he lived. And so we have to make sure that our thoughts are focused on him. How do you do that? You've got to spend time in the word. And I've run into this more over the last few weeks. People that are sharing challenges, they're going through. And I'm like going, how's your time with God? Well, I come to church on Sunday. That's awesome. How's your time with God?"

3. "He humbled himself. He made himself nothing. And in order to do that and to be that way. He leaned in on the God-like powers that he had. And so how can we do that? By connecting ourselves to Jesus' story. You and I have been told that we could do amazing things through the power of Christ in our own lives. The disciples did it. Others have done it in the past leading up to now. Some of you in this very room have done it. And some of you are still striving to do it."

4. "And so if you can get yourself emptied out and get your heart dumped and cleaned out of all the other stuff that divides it and you can be focused on the one thing that God wants you to have, then you're going to be able to accomplish and to find joy and to do the things that God wants you to do. Humility. What is that? It's not just admitting that your team didn't do as good yesterday, all right, as you wanted it to do, okay? It's not that I bombed making dinner or I didn't follow through with something that I said that I was going to do."

5. "And so what do we do with today's sermon? And what do we do with this message? And what we've learned from faith? And what we've learned from the Philippians? We're going to keep focused on what we need to keep focused on is that our story connects to Christ's story. The second thing, our thinking needs to be single-minded. If you're allowing your mind to get distracted and to go a million different directions, stop and pause. And say, God, I want to spend some time with you right now. I want to just hear from you."

6. "And if I lose my life today and you think you've won because I'm no longer on this earth causing problems, what? It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter whether I live or whether I die. God's honored and glorified in what I do, and I've got joy that you can't take from me because the joy didn't matter on the circumstances around him. That wasn't what it was about. What it leveraged and what it looked into and what it held on to was the joy in what God was doing inside of him."
