#PastDoesntDefineYou
“``And the first thing that God would remind us of this morning, the first matter of application if you would, is it doesn't matter where you came from, God can use somebody just like you. Regardless of where you started, God can use you in a mighty way. And for somebody this morning, man, you're here and and and you're you don't know and you're kinda wrestling with, man, can God use somebody like me? I mean, somebody that that has had this addiction, somebody that's had this this sin, somebody that's had this fault, somebody that's been a hypocrite, you know, somebody that's been through a divorce. God, can you really use somebody like me? And God wants to begin this series by reminding every person in this room that your past does not limit God's future. Alright. Amen.”

#FaithOverComfort
“I'll say it another way. If everything in your life is nice and neat and tidy and secure and comfortable, it is very unlikely that you are going with God. Now, don't like to hear that, do we? But it's true. If everything in our life is nice and neat and tidy and safe and secure, then it is very unlikely that we as individuals, our families, our church are going with God because our God likes surprises. He likes to mix it up. He doesn't like to do anything the same way twice because when he does it his way, he gets all the credit.”

#FaithOverFacts
“Here's the point. Millbrook Baptist Church, hear this word from God. Going with our God requires risk. you wanna go with God, it will require faith over facts. Millbrook, God is not calling us to a journey of finances. God is not calling us to a journey of facts. God is calling our church to a journey of faith. And we're going to get to a moment where, watch this, God's not going to call us to talk about it. He's not going to call us to discuss it. He's not going to talk us to analyze it. He's not gonna call us to call a meeting about it or strategize about it. Our God's gonna call us to obey it because he's calling us to a journey of faith.”

#GraceTransformsLives
“God took an idol carver from an idol carver family and turned him into the father of many nation and God wants to use your life as well. It's a picture of the incredible grace of our God. Man, aren't you thankful for God's grace? Aren't you thankful for the fact that God can use a nobody like me to do something for him? Man, your testimony's probably like mine, man. Man, I'm not where I wanna be, but I'm sure not who I used to be. God's still working on me and he's not done yet. But man, I'm thankful for where he's brought me.”

#CalledFromDarknessToPurpose
“Abraham's journey began in an ungodly place in an ungodly home. In fact, many scholars and most scholars believe that Terah was actually named after the moon god and that tradition has it that Terah was actually an idol carver. That he he made a living by carving false gods and selling in the community. So get so get this picture then. If if that's the case, then get this picture of God coming to this guy named Abraham and living in a home where dad carves false gods and says, you know what? The rest of your life, I wanna see you seeking after the one true and living God. Amen? idol carver to father of many nations. Now, that's a God story.”

#GoAllInForJesus
“For somebody else this morning, man, God is calling you to a journey of faith. Not debate. Not discussion. Not analysis. He's calling you to hold your breath and go all in for him. Whatever that means for you. All in in service. All in in commitment. All in for ministry. All in in a new vocation. For missions. I'm tired of playing it safe. I'm ready to go all in for you, Jesus.”

#RevelationLeadsToChange
“most important thing that's gonna happen this morning is about to happen. I really believe that. You say, what do you mean pastor? I really believe that God's word is never shared for information. God didn't bring you here to get some new information. God brought you here for revelation that leads to transformation. Our response to God's word is more important than just simply listening and checking a box.”
38s
#BreakFamilyPatterns
“You can be the one that changes the entire direction of your family tree. Your father, your grandfather, your mom, your dad, that does not have to define the rest of your legacy. You can be the one to change an entire family tree. The second thing that God wants to say to somebody this morning is, we see that what what what continued in Abraham's life began in Terah's life. God had been at work, he was at work, and he'll always be at work.”

#DoWhatYouKnow
“For somebody else this morning, God wants to say, while you why you determine and while you decide and what and while you discern what you don't know, focus on what you already know. many people come and they ask, you know, pastor, I I don't know this. I don't know about this. This is the one thing in my life that I can't figure out. And many times I tell them, while you're while you're looking for that thing that you don't know, focus on doing all the things that you already know to do. Because many times if you do the things you already know to do, God will show you the thing you don't know to do.”

#ReceiveGodsGrace
“Man, for somebody this morning, you need to receive God's grace. You mean God can use somebody like me? Abraham proves it. Man, in in spite of your sins, instead of your in spite of your faults, and your failures, and your shortcomings, and your family mess, God can save you and God can use you if you'll let him. Man, receive him today.”
29s
#FollowYourSpiritualMarkers
“God put spiritual markers in our lives. You have spiritual markers. You have major things that have happened in your life. And many times, as you begin to pray about God, where do I need to go next? And what is my next move? And where am I headed? God calls us to look at what he's done all the days of our life. What spiritual markers he's already put down that'll be guiding posts, that'll be arrows to show us where we need to go next.”

#LiveAllInForChrist
“Through the grace and the surprises, this is not a story about this man of God. This is a story rather than a story about a great man of God. It's a great it's a story about a great God of this man. Because when we accept God's calling and when we and then we celebrate God's surprises, what we find is that there's no better way to live this life than for Christ. We don't show up on Sunday morning because we have to, y'all. We show up because we get to. He's my Jesus. How could I give him anything less? How could I give my Jesus who's given everything for me, how could I give him anything less than go all in for him, man? Count me in. I don't wanna just just mire through this life limping through living a defeated Christian life, man. I wanna go through life on fire for Jesus Christ, accepting every single blessing that he puts in my life, making a difference for him. Amen? Amen. Let's stand.”

#PastPointsToPurpose
“But watch this. Because some of you guys right now are kinda like wondering like, God, what's next in my life? God, I'm praying about what I need to do next. I'm praying about what assignments you have for me. I'm really trying to seek and discern God's calling and God's will for my life in this time and this season. And for somebody this morning, God wants to say to you that God while God is working, God has been working. He was he was working long before Abraham ever got to this Haran. He had been working in the life of his father and said, hey, I want you to go to Canaan. And they just happened to settle in Haran. For somebody this morning, God wants to say to you, while you seek out where you're going, look back at where you've been. Because many times where you've been will point to where you need to be going. Amen?”

#ChooseRiskForGod
“Most of us, I mean, the part of the American culture is to eliminate risk. value comfort. We value safety. We value security. We like the same restaurants. The same clothing brands. Some of you guys have bought the same type of vehicle. We like the same seats in church, don't we? Man, y'all must really like your seat. I'm just kidding. We don't like unexpected events or changes at work. We like for things to remain the same and for things to go as expected. But don't miss this Millbrook. Our God, he doesn't do that. If we're gonna take a journey of faith, need to be recognized that our God, he likes surprises.”
34s
#ReadyForFreshMove
“the reason I share that, Millbrook, is that's a good picture of what God's calling our church to do. God's calling us to take this journey of faith. God's calling us at this point in this season to say, you know what? I I I'm I'm not gonna play it comfortable, man. I'm not I'm not gonna play it safe, man. I'm I'm gonna I'm gonna hold my breath and I'm gonna go all in with what God wants me to do in this time in this season. I'm ready for a fresh move of God. I'm I'm ready for a fresh thing that God wants to do in my life.”

#NoMoreHalfway
“You settled halfway to his calling. You settled part of the way to where he's calling you to. There was somebody that made a a promise, that that made a commitment to God in a retreat or in a conference or or in a in a calling setting. You made a promise to God and you told God you would go all the way with him. But somewhere along the way, you stopped halfway short. And in Abraham's case, God comes back to him in Genesis chapter 12 and verse one and said, the Lord had said to him, Abraham, let's get going. I didn't call you to stop halfway. I didn't call you to go halfway. I called you to go all the way. It's time to get going. And for somebody this morning, God wants to come to somebody in the house this morning. And I really believe this by the power of the Holy Spirit, that God's coming to somebody and saying, look, you settled halfway, you settled part away. I need I'm coming back to you this morning right now, and I'm asking you to honor that commitment.”

#IdentityInChristNotRole
“First, the Lord reminded me on that morning that he doesn't need me. The church has not and never will be dependent on one person. That's right. It just keeps rolling on. He chooses to you use us but he's not dependent on any of us. That's right. Second, the Lord's love for me is not based on what I do. Come on. The Lord loves me regardless. Before I am a pastor, I'm a Christian and I'm a child of king Jesus. And if I never preach another sermon, my identity is completely secure in Jesus Christ.”
24s
#TestedToShowCommitment
“The third is not his calling. It's not his child, but it's his commitment. In Genesis chapter 22, God comes to Abraham and says, you know that thing that matters the most to you? You know that thing that's most significant to you? You know that thing that you love the most? Yeah. I'm gonna need that. And he called him to take Isaac up on a hill to see if he was all in.”

#GraceStartsTheJourney
“But there's three things that God would have us see this morning from his word. Number one, the Lord would have us to see the incredible grace of our God. The incredible grace of our God. Something I'd never seen in the word of God before is this, is that Abraham's journey I thought Abraham's journey began in Genesis chapter 12. Abraham's journey actually begins in Genesis chapter 11. I preached Genesis chapter 12 before I've not preached Genesis chapter 11. But Abraham's journey actually begins in a home of a father named Terah.”
67s
#MoveBeyondHaran
“The third thing is is is a word for somebody very specific this morning. The bible says God told this family to go to Canaan And they got to Haran and they settled there. Haran is halfway to Canaan. In other words, get this picture of this assignment by God. This calling by God. God, I'm calling you to go there. And the family, they came and they were called to go there but they stopped halfway. They went part of the way. They didn't stay all the way in Ur. They went part of the way. They went halfway, but they settled part of the way to God's final assignment. And listen, God just put this very clearly on my heart this morning. There's somebody this morning that needs to hear this word from God. That God called you to Canaan and you've settled in Haran.”
