No matter what you are facing, there is power in calling on the name of Jesus. When you call on His name, the atmosphere shifts, burdens are lifted, and even the darkest situations can change. You don’t have to be perfect or have it all together to call on Him—He responds to the desperate, the broken, and the hopeful alike. When you call on Jesus, demons tremble, healing is released, and God’s presence draws near. Don’t underestimate the authority and comfort found in simply saying, “Jesus.” [51:00]
Acts 4:12 (ESV)
"And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved."
Reflection: What is one situation in your life right now where you need to pause and simply call on the name of Jesus, trusting Him to shift the atmosphere and bring change?
Being favored by God is a gift, but it also comes with challenges. Like Joseph, you may find that the blessings God places on your life attract jealousy, misunderstanding, or even opposition from those closest to you. Yet, God’s favor is not something you earn or request—it is given because He knows you can handle it. Even when others try to strip away the outward signs of your blessing, the true favor of God remains on your life, equipping you to endure and overcome. [01:07:57]
Genesis 37:23-24 (ESV)
"So when Joseph came to his brothers, they stripped him of his robe, the robe of many colors that he wore. And they took him and threw him into a pit. The pit was empty; there was no water in it."
Reflection: In what ways have you experienced both the blessing and the burden of God’s favor, and how can you embrace His purpose for you even when others don’t understand?
Life’s pits—those seasons of hardship, betrayal, or loss—are not the end of your story. The pit is a necessary stop on the journey to your destiny, a place where God stretches, molds, and prepares you for what’s next. Even when you feel at your lowest, remember that God’s promises still stand. Hold on to what He has spoken over your life, and don’t let the pit become your permanent address. The pit is temporary, but God’s plan for you is eternal. [01:19:07]
Psalm 40:1-3 (ESV)
"I waited patiently for the Lord; he inclined to me and heard my cry. He drew me up from the pit of destruction, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure. He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God. Many will see and fear, and put their trust in the Lord."
Reflection: Where in your life have you mistaken a pit stop for a final destination, and how can you renew your hope in God’s promises today?
What others intend for your harm, God can use for your good. Joseph’s journey from the pit to the palace shows that God is always at work, even through betrayal, false accusations, and forgotten promises. The very things meant to break you can become the stepping stones to your destiny. When you trust God through every season, you will see that He is able to redeem every pain and use it for His glory and your blessing. [01:46:00]
Genesis 50:20 (ESV)
"As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring it about that many people should be kept alive, as they are today."
Reflection: Think of a time when someone’s actions hurt you deeply—how might God be using that experience to shape your future or bless others through you?
Even in the muddiest, most uncomfortable places of life, you can have a testimony. The pit may be filled with darkness, discomfort, and uncertainty, but it is also a place where God’s presence can be most real. You are not alone—God is with you, sustaining you, and preparing you for what’s next. Don’t let the pit silence your praise or steal your hope. Instead, let your testimony be that God kept you, lifted you, and brought you through. [01:47:47]
2 Corinthians 4:8-10 (ESV)
"We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed; always carrying in the body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in our bodies."
Reflection: What is one way you can share your testimony of God’s faithfulness, even while you are still in the midst of your own pit experience?
The story of Joseph reminds us that God’s favor is both a blessing and a burden. Joseph was chosen by his father and marked by a robe of many colors, but that very sign of favor made him a target for hatred and jealousy—even from his own family. Sometimes, the evidence of God’s hand on your life will provoke opposition from those closest to you. Yet, Joseph’s journey shows that the favor of God is not something you earn or request; it is given by God’s sovereign choice, and He equips you to carry it, even when it brings you into difficult places.
Joseph’s life is a testimony that the pit is not the end of the story. The pit—those seasons of betrayal, loss, or confusion—are not destinations, but necessary stops on the journey to destiny. In the pit, Joseph did not fight or protest; he trusted God’s promises even when his circumstances contradicted them. The pit is where God stretches, molds, and prepares us for what’s next. It’s a place of refining, not of defeat. If you can praise God in the pit, you’ll be able to praise Him on the mountaintop.
God’s favor will follow you through every season—Potiphar’s house, the prison, and ultimately the palace. Even when others try to strip you of your outward signs of favor, they cannot remove what God has placed on your life. Sometimes, those who should recognize your favor will miss it, but God will raise up others—even strangers—to see and honor what He’s doing in you. Every setback, every betrayal, every false accusation is just another step toward the fulfillment of God’s promise.
Joseph’s story also teaches us about forgiveness and perspective. When his brothers finally bowed before him, Joseph recognized that what they meant for evil, God meant for good. The pain, the pit, and the process were all part of God’s plan to bring about a greater purpose—not just for Joseph, but for his entire family. The pit seasons are uncomfortable, sometimes muddy and dark, but they are never permanent. God is with you in the pit, and He will bring you out with a testimony.
Genesis 37:18-24 (ESV) — > 18 They saw him from afar, and before he came near to them they conspired against him to kill him.
> 19 They said to one another, “Here comes this dreamer.
> 20 Come now, let us kill him and throw him into one of the pits. Then we will say that a fierce animal has devoured him, and we will see what will become of his dreams.”
> 21 But when Reuben heard it, he rescued him out of their hands, saying, “Let us not take his life.”
> 22 And Reuben said to them, “Shed no blood; throw him into this pit here in the wilderness, but do not lay a hand on him”—that he might rescue him out of their hand to restore him to his father.
> 23 So when Joseph came to his brothers, they stripped him of his robe, the robe of many colors that he wore.
> 24 And they took him and threw him into a pit. The pit was empty; there was no water in it.
Don't be surprised when people you think should be happy for you are secretly or not so secretly plotting against you. Not because you did anything to them, but because you have favor on your life. That while you think they're celebrating all the while they're saying I can't stand her, I can't stand him. Every time I turn around that God is doing something in their life. Soon as I think that they finally gonna be exposed, God covers them again. [01:08:06] (30 seconds) #HiddenEnemiesOfFavor
Joseph reminds us that we need to be careful with who we share our dreams and the promises that God speaks in our lives with. Because the ones you think will be happy for you will be the very ones that will do everything they can do to try to kill you and your dreams. You better be careful who you share everything with every Pair partner is not a prayer partner. Some are sent by the enemy so they can hear your prayers to your father. [01:10:31] (35 seconds) #GuardYourDreamsCarefully
You better be careful who you try to kill in this season. You never know how your blessings may be tied to them. You better be very careful who you put your mouth on in this season. Your blessing may be tied to them. You better be very careful of who you hate on in this season. Because you're very blessing may be tied to them. [01:15:57] (28 seconds) #BlessingsLinkedToEnemies
When you know that God has promised you great things. Don't let the pit keep you bound. Don't let the pit make you forget about what God has spoken in your life. Don't let the pit be your permanent place of residence. Don't let the pit stop or block your testimony and your blessing. The pit is a stop on the journey, it's not the destination. [01:18:56] (25 seconds) #PitIsNotTheDestination
When you are obedient to God and trust God in all things, no matter what is happening now, you'll be able to testify that it won't always be like this. You're able to testify with the songwriter and say, I know that trouble won't last always. You can testify that I may be in the pit right now, but I know that God has great things in store for me. [01:21:39] (28 seconds) #TrustThroughThePit
If you can't thank and praise God in the pit, you will not praise and thank him on the mountaintop. If you can't thank and praise God when everything looks the opposite of what he's spoken in your life, you can't will find the pit to be a long place of longevity. But Joseph held on to the promises of God even in the pit. And I came to tell somebody, you gotta hold on to the promises of God even in the Pit. [01:22:07] (36 seconds) #PraiseInThePit
You thought what you said about me hurt me? No, baby. You were just helping me get to my destiny. You thought what you did to me was gonna kill me? No, baby. You were just helping me get to where God has for me. You thought all of that you tried to do was gonna stop the blessing and the favor from God being on my life. No matter fact. Thank you. Because you helping me get to my destiny. [01:26:51] (27 seconds) #TrialsLeadToDestiny
``What you meant for evil? God meant it for my good. I'm right where God wants me to be. I'm in the place of God to keep us all alive. I'm right where God wants me to be. See, that's why I had a testimony in the pit. So I can be right where God wants me to be. And the reason why you have to have a testimony in the pits of life is so you can be right where God wants you to be. [01:45:56] (33 seconds) #GoodFromEvilPurpose
