But the Lord was with Joseph and showed him steadfast love and gave him favor in the sight of The Keeper of the prison. [00:01:29]

God was with bunan and God was with Joseph and it's like a tolling Bell here in Genesis 39 in verses 2 3 21 and 23 we are told that God was with Joseph. [00:03:09]

God was with Joseph in providential preserving in providential preserving now we meet Joseph uh we'll pick it up when he is 17 years uh of age he is at home uh self absorbed uh Mother's boy um somewhat selfish perhaps a tad arrogant uh but God is going to change him. [00:03:37]

Joseph lands on his feet uh he is in Piper's uh house as a servant as a slave uh pitifer is the captain of uh Pharaoh's um army and we are told uh that he was successful verse two the Lord was with Joseph and he became a successful man. [00:06:33]

God had a plan for Joseph and despite uh his awkward and difficult teenage personality uh there was a task for Joseph to do uh pmer Robertson tells us that there's an emmanu principle he calls it an Emmanuel principle in scripture uh I am with you uh Emmanuel God With Us. [00:08:28]

God is preserving Joseph for uh a task uh that will ensure uh the promise made in Genesis 315 uh that the seed of the woman uh would crush the seed of The Serpent and the promise that God had made to Abraham uh in Genesis 12 and 15 and 17 uh that he would would be the father of a multitude of people. [00:09:10]

God moves in mysterious ways his wonders to perform he plants his footsteps in the sea and rides upon the storm deep in unfathomable minds of never failing skill he Treasures up his bright designs and works his Sovereign will so wrote William Cooper. [00:10:11]

Joseph uh young as he uh as he is uh and he would have now been uh in his late uh 30s perhaps when this incident uh occurred and notice let's notice three things about this first of all that the Temptation took place in the course in the pathway of Duty he was doing what God wanted him to do. [00:11:08]

Joseph now must decide uh what to do and to decide uh in a Godly manner uh what to do notice secondly the power of Temptation uh she was after all a very powerful uh woman uh she was the wife of one of the most powerful men military men uh in uh Egypt and notice uh the Persistence of this temptation. [00:12:24]

Joseph reasons well let me go back to verse eight but he refused and said to his master's wife behold because of me my master has no concern about anything in the house and he has put everything that he has in my charge he is not greater in this house than I am nor has he kept back anything from me except you because you are his wife how then can I do this great wickedness and sin against God. [00:13:24]

Joseph was with Joseph for a purpose he did not yet know it was while he was in prison and he would be in prison for a decade or so until he would would be in his late 40s and and and perhaps nearing 50 but he discovered in prison that he had a talent a gift it was the gift of interpreting dreams. [00:17:40]

Joseph speaking to his brothers when he finally you remember reveals himself to his brothers uh you meant it for evil but God meant it for good if you believe that every event and Circumstance in your life is part of God's plan and purpose for you then would you not even in the midst of a great trial would you not bless God even in the midst of that trial that you would praise him. [00:21:20]
