“And I really hope you don't hear shame in this, but you hear an invitation and you see all of our humanity. These are thoughts that we all have. And Peter was the very first one to play. He stepped out on the field and said, I believe Jesus is king and now my whole life is gonna be different as I receive the blessing of God to go and do amazing work. And so many others have followed throughout the generations and the same opportunity exists for us today, not because we are enlightened saints, but because we are forgiven sinners.”

“And then you just miss your opportunity because you don't think you're good enough, because you don't think you're smart enough, because you're maybe not godly enough. These are all the thoughts that we have in this room that we share in. Maybe we've done too much bad stuff or maybe we don't have the skills or we don't know the Bible. Maybe we're going through something that's just so challenging we can't even picture anything out of the immediate thing in front of our faces. Maybe it just feels too messy. Maybe the commitment is just too high. Maybe the time's not right. These are the kinds of thoughts that we all bring in to the room together, and yet, we have all been invited to play.”

“I've got a couple other questions that I really wanna encourage you to reflect on this week and actually to talk to someone about if you feel like you're able to. Find a trusted person, sit down with a pastor if you don't have someone in your life who can chat about these kinds of things with you, and talk about what God is inviting you to do as an ordained minister of the kingdom of heaven. And also talk about, are you convinced of God's love for you and God's love for the world? Jesus' Messianic mission has been made known to us through the gospel and through the revelation of Jesus that we all carry. We don't have to wait for anything. We get to bring the kingdom of heaven to earth now through the favor of God and the power of the spirit as we proclaim the kingship of Christ.”
