Just as Isaiah foresaw both darkness and glory, believers must discern cultural currents while holding fast to truth. This isn’t about fear but preparation—like a watchman spotting storms before they arrive. Leaders cultivate wisdom to navigate persecution, societal shifts, and spiritual warfare. God’s people aren’t called to retreat but to rise with discernment. The same Spirit that guided Isaiah equips us to steward tomorrow’s challenges today. [06:56]

Day 2: Gross Darkness Meets Unstoppable Glory

The world’s accelerating extremes—violence, persecution, moral confusion—mirror Isaiah’s “gross darkness.” Yet this shadows God’s greater promise: His glory rises brightest where night seems thickest. Nigerian martyrs, silenced by media, still radiate Christ’s victory. Darkness cannot extinguish the Church’s light but only magnify its contrast. Wealth, relationships, and safety may vanish, but His “well” never runs dry. Like the woman leaving her waterpot, we’re freed to risk everything because we’ve found the one thing that cannot be taken. [46:18]

Isaiah’s vision opens the frame: darkness covers the earth, even gross darkness the peoples, but the glory of the Lord rises on God’s people. The text sets those two lines running in parallel and refuses to pick one over the other. Times are not going to get easier; God gives wisdom so his people handle them better. God does not wait for perfect people or perfect conditions. God meets Abraham in his flaws to showcase redemption, then does the same in Samaria.

Jesus, led by the Spirit, “needed to go through Samaria.” Jacob’s well becomes the stage where living water breaks in. Jesus asks for a drink, engaging the woman honorably and opening a door for a deeper exchange. Then many more believe because they themselves have heard him, and they confess the right title: “the Savior of the world.” The call lands here: do not put significance in kids, beauty, money, or achievements. Plant like Psalm 1 beside the river. Let storms bend the tree, not uproot it. Let Christ be the well, the water, and the weight.

And that doesn't mean that we, you know, compromise our convictions, but there's always a, adjustment and an adapting to the way life is is changing.”
