#TrustGodNotTryHarder
“Yet, God used the rejection of Joseph to save that family and that lineage that would one day lead to Jesus. And God used his son Jesus to lead to the salvation of all who would call upon the name of the Lord. Maybe you're here today and you've not ever believed in Jesus. The story of Joseph also clearly points to Jesus, and it points to the love of our gracious father. So today is not try harder, be a better person. It's trust God. Follow him the best you can despite the chaos that surrounds us.”

#HomeWithChristAtCenter
“And you might have had a home where things were not good, but today, you can kinda put a stake in the ground and say, you know what? Things are gonna get different going forward. We're not gonna tolerate favoritism. We're not gonna tolerate jealousy. And most of all, we're gonna be a home where Christ is at the center of everything. And we're tempted to give our kids all the things that the world wants us to give them, like more things, like maybe an inheritance one day, a better education, help them find the right career. But the reality is the best kind of home is a home that points them to the father who will never leave us and who will never forsake us.”

#GraceSustainsFaith
“And somehow, only by God's grace, Joseph still finds a way to maintain his faith in God. And we haven't even got to the good stuff yet. Like, we haven't got to his betrayal. We haven't gotten to the part where he gets sold into slavery. We haven't gotten to any of that yet despite all of this the the dysfunction and the chaos, Joseph is able to maintain his faith in the Lord. Because God's purposes are greater than our failures.”

#LeadLikeChrist
“I'm gonna become the guy that God's called me to be. I'm gonna lead spiritually in my home. I'm gonna pray with my family, and we're gonna do things God's way and stop doing them our way. We can't change the past. We can't change people around you as much as sometimes we would like to, but God is working despite all that. And and just so we know, our boy Joseph, Joe Jacobson, he's not the hero in this story. Because if you look very closely at his life, his life is reflecting to something millennia in the future, and that's Jesus.”

#LayDownPrideChooseHumility
“And so many times, I think in our chaos, we we get stuck in a rut, and we get filled with pride because we think, man, I'm right, and I know I'm right. And so I'm not gonna budge on this thing, but listen, if you wanna have a chaotic family, then great. Hold on to your pride and hold on to your stubbornness. But if you wanna have peace and be the family that God has called you to be, then we have to lay everything down and say, whatever it is, it's my fault, it's your fault, it's somebody else's fault, I'm willing to be humble enough to receive that constructive criticism, and I'm gonna be humble enough to work on this so that our family works to honor and glorify God in everything that we do.”

#GodWorkingInChaos
“God's like, yeah. This chaotic family. Because he is preparing the brothers who are driven by jealousy for salvation in the years to come. And everybody in this story is making mistakes. Joseph's making mistakes. Dad's making mistakes. The brothers are making mistakes. Yet, God is still working. He is in the middle of all of this chaos.”

#DadsDropTheMask
“And I just like to say that especially for you dads, like, there's a lot of things we're tempted to do as dads. Like, we've gotta be the man. We've gotta be the provider. We've gotta carry all the weight. We can't be emotional. We've gotta have it all right. We've gotta have it all have it all together. And can I just tell you, that's a lie? And if you're if you're carrying that around today, stop carrying that. Simply humble yourself and ask for the Lord's help in the things that you can't carry because none of us can carry at all.”

#ChosenDespiteChaos
“We have an insanely chaotic family. Jacob, his wives, his sons, but God is working his divine plan behind the scenes. And we can look at it and even even I'm sure from Jacob's perspective and his sons, like, it's just chaos everywhere. And you think, like, this is God's chosen family? Like, if all the families in the world, this is the one that you chose to, like, make your name great and to spread your really? This one? This chaotic family?”
