#StrengthenedToWitness
“``He says, you will be hated and his solution is to strengthen you by the power of the Holy Spirit to get back in the game to win more people for Christ. This embedded cycle in John 15 is tell people about Jesus, face resistance, be strengthened by the spirit so you can go tell more people about Jesus. And it means being strengthened by this helper is about bearing witness to the work of Christ and sharing the gospel of Jesus with others knowing that even if you do it perfectly, you might still get hated. That's what the arrival of the spirit is about. And that's why fun fact at Pentecost, when the spirit arrives, it's one massive revival service where salvation and thousands of people come to faith. The arrival of the spirit communicates the assignment of the spirit.”

#SpiritForChrist
“So hear me. I love worship gatherings. I am all in on contending prayer and contemplative prayer. I'm actually leaving to go to Bailey, Colorado tonight to enter into a three and a half day silent retreat. Like I am all in on seeking after and experiencing encounter with Jesus. But please hear me. The Holy Spirit does not exist so you feel something in a prayer movement. It it doesn't doesn't exist so you get the vibes or the feels or whatever in the middle of a worship service. The primary function of the Holy Spirit is to bear witness to the glory of Christ so that with humility and heartbreak as our guide, we do everything short of sin to bear witness as well and reach one more person with the gospel of Jesus. That's why he's here.”

#GrowthThroughSuffering
“I wish it wasn't true, but it is. My prayer life with God is always weakest when things are going great and always most potent when things are bad. That that's not because you're a bad person. It's kind of like how God made us. That's why Jesus says it this way. Listen. We have a good father, not a helicopter parent. He doesn't exist to protect you from everything. Overprotective parents can only produce adult sized children, not mature children. The Lord in his kindness knows you need to go through some stuff to become a person of maturity and proximity and dependence with him. It is through the muck that you are strengthened with Jesus. And that's why we live a life of welcomed suffering.”

#GentleButBold
“And I and I hope you hear me. I don't know if you see this, but in our world right now, there are certain influencers and voices in politics, specifically, I I would argue peddling like a progressive Christianity. And our world is drinking it up because it's coming from a gentle tone even though it's deception. It's almost like we've allowed gentleness to be co opted by those who seek to build environments where faith in the word of God fails. And so brothers and sisters, we must reclaim gentleness. We must reclaim courageous compassion and meekness so that we can say the things that will result maybe in us being hated, but we ensure the offense occurs through gentleness, not arrogance or aggression. You gotta speak the truth in love knowing that, yes, there is a right way to communicate, but sometimes there's no version of you being bold that results in them liking you.”
