Jesus: The Light of the World and Our Hope
Summary
In this message, we explore the profound truth that Jesus is the light of the world, a beacon that dispels darkness and brings clarity to our lives. The truth, as Jesus articulated in John 8:32, is liberating, though it may initially cause discomfort as it challenges our misconceptions and pretenses. Embracing the truth is akin to turning on a light in a dark room, illuminating our path and guiding us through life's uncertainties. Jesus, as the embodiment of truth, offers us freedom from the bondage of ignorance and sin.
The narrative of creation reminds us that the world was once perfect, but sin introduced brokenness into every aspect of life. Jesus came to restore what was lost, to mend the brokenness in our world and in our lives. His mission was not just to save us from sin but to restore our relationship with God and to renew the fallen creation. This restoration is a central theme of Christmas, a time when we celebrate the coming of Jesus to seek and save the lost.
Moreover, Jesus came to offer us abundant life, a life filled with purpose, peace, and power. This life is not limited to our earthly existence but extends into eternity, promising us a future beyond our imagination. The abundant life Jesus offers is a gift, a divine exchange of our darkness for His light, our brokenness for His wholeness.
Christmas is a reminder of God's indescribable gift to humanity—His Son, Jesus Christ. It is a time to reflect on the true meaning of this gift and to embrace the light and life that Jesus brings. As we celebrate, we are called to let our light shine, sharing the hope and love of Christ with those around us. This partnership in spreading the light of Jesus is a mission we undertake together, bringing glory to God and hope to the world.

Day 1: Embracing Truth for Liberation
Embracing the truth of Jesus is a journey that begins with discomfort but leads to ultimate freedom. When we confront our misconceptions and pretenses, we allow the light of God's truth to illuminate our lives, much like turning on a light in a dark room. This process challenges us to live authentically and in alignment with God's will, freeing us from the bondage of ignorance and sin. As we embrace this truth, we find clarity and direction in our lives, enabling us to navigate through uncertainties with confidence. [12:14]
John 8:31-32 (ESV): "So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, 'If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.'"

Day 2: Restoration through Christ
The world, once perfect, was marred by sin, introducing brokenness into every aspect of life. Jesus came to restore what was lost, mending the brokenness in our world and in our lives. His mission extends beyond saving us from sin; it is about renewing our relationship with God and restoring creation. This restoration is a central theme of Christmas, reminding us of the hope and renewal that Jesus brings. As we reflect on this, we are invited to participate in the ongoing work of restoration in our own lives and communities. [15:37]
Colossians 1:19-20 (ESV): "For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross."

Jesus offers us an abundant life filled with purpose, peace, and power. This life is not confined to our earthly existence but extends into eternity, promising a future beyond our imagination. The abundant life is a divine exchange of our darkness for His light, our brokenness for His wholeness. As we embrace this gift, we are called to live with intentionality, seeking to fulfill God's purpose for our lives and experiencing the fullness of His peace and power. [19:05]
John 10:10 (ESV): "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly."

As we celebrate, we are reminded of the profound love and grace that God has extended to humanity through Jesus. Matthew 5:14-16 (ESV): "You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven."

[00:19:10]
The Bible says in 1 Corinthians chapter 2 verse 9 no mere man has ever seen or heard or even imagined the wonderful things God has ready for those who love the Lord he says you can't even imagine what heaven's going to be like no wonder it's good news no wonder we celebrate it no wonder the world shuts down at Christmas because this is the best news without this life has no meaning no purpose it is motion without meaning it is petty it is pointless Christmas is the good news this is God's gift to you. [00:20:08]

[00:25:36]
The Bible tells you the truth and God tells you the truth and Jesus is the word of Truth now there's a great benefit to basing your life on the truth Jesus said it like this in John 8:32 when you know the truth the truth will set you free you see Freedom doesn't come from the government Freedom doesn't come from doing whatever you want freedom comes from living your life on the truth now the good news is that the truth makes you free the bad news is at first it makes you miserable because we don't want to hear the truth. [00:12:03]
The Bible says that when God made the world it was perfect in the Garden of Eden there was there was no sorrow no suffering no sin uh no pain no problems no pressure no tears no toil everything was perfect but when man sinned when Adam chose to dis obey God sin entered the world and now the world is broken the Bible calls it Fallen uh we are in a fallen world where literally nothing works correctly have you noticed this your body doesn't always work correctly the weather does not always work your correctly your relationships don't always work correctly the economy doesn't always work correctly in fact there's nothing perfect on this planet anymore except the word of God. [00:14:05]
I read this poem once I want to read it to you if our greatest need had been information God would have sent an educator if our greatest need had been technology God would have sent a scientist if our greatest need had been money God would have sent us an economist and if our greatest need had been pleasure God would have sent us an Entertainer but our greatest need was forgiveness so God sent us a savior now let me just be real candid and Frank with you this last year and in previous years you've done some things that you feel bad about you know it and if you even just thought about it for a minute they start coming up the top you go I wish that had never happened we all have regrets and we all have shame and we all have guilt in our lives there is no reason for you to carry that garbage into the next year. [00:17:35]
Jesus came at Christmas and grew up and died on the cross and rose again so that you don't have to carry your guilt into next year you can let it go you can receive his forgiveness the point is if we had needed this savior God wouldn't have sent one for us so quit trying to save yourself finally number four the fourth reason we celebrate Christmas is that Jesus came to reproduce God's life in you Jesus came to reproduce God's life in you you say I don't understand it well let me explain it to you.
