#BelieveInJesus
“``So Lego Movie has the right verb, believe. They just have the wrong noun. Believe in yourself, dead end. Believe in Jesus, it unlocks all that peace, all that power, all that grace, all that mercy, all that love. Not just for eternity, not just like life insurance when you die, you end up in heaven, like actually right here, right now, in real time, living out of that life, living out of that grace, living out of that mercy. That's the power of belief when you orient it toward the right object, The resurrected king, and the god who made you and who loves you.”

#AnchorInChrist
“If you believe in the one god has sent, it unlocks you from death to life, from lost to found. Like, belief actually is dramatically transformational. That is exactly right. We just have got the wrong noun. Not belief in you, but belief in the resurrected king, who is king of kings and lord of lords. And when belief when your belief is anchored in him and not yourself, it releases real power and real humility to keep you from being just another jerk. Real power, real humility, real grace, real love, real truth, real transformation, all released through the power of right belief in the resurrected king.”

#PowerThroughPrayer
“anything and everything is possible for those who believe. Even if your prayer is as weak as I do believe, help my unbelief. And we get this lovely little p s from in the story. After Jesus had gone indoors, his disciples asked him privately, why couldn't we take care of that one? Why couldn't we drive it out? He replied, that kind can only come out by prayer because the power they needed wasn't in them. The power they needed was in God. So it wasn't dig deeper and believe more in you. The the answer was you gotta pray. You gotta go after the Lord. You gotta seek him because that's the source of all your power.”

“Like, you can't politics your way out of sin. Money doesn't end it. Finding yourself in some dark corner of the Internet doesn't solve the sin problem. Even trying to be the best person you can and be as nice to people as you possibly can, as good as all that is. That's not dealing with the sin problem. God so loved the world. He saw really gifted people who are stuck in a sin problem. No matter how much you believe in yourself, you can't break the sin problem. So he puts on flesh, goes to the cross to wash away your sin and my sin. We just celebrated that with communion a few minutes ago. He washes away our sin.”

#BelieveEveryDay
“That's the work God requires of you. What does God want from you? What does God really want from you? To believe. That's not just a one time thing. To believe in him, to believe in Jesus at every turn in every area of your life, not just a one time thing, again and again and again. Things are hard at work, things are hard at your marriage, things are hard with your kids, believe in the one he has sent. Believe in Jesus, believe in his goodness, his love, his faithfulness. You got money problems, you got medical problems, believe in the one he has sent. That's the work God requires of you, and that's what unlocks the grace, the mercy, the truth, the peace of Christ. And if you've never experienced it, ask someone around you. That's their story.”

#SinNeedsSalvation
“Nothing we've done throughout history has eradicated the sin problem. You can't educate your way out of sin. You can't get enough therapy to get out of sin. You can't vote your way out of sin. You can't achieve your way out of sin. Like, you can't politics your way out of sin. Money doesn't end it. Finding yourself in some dark corner of the Internet doesn't solve the sin problem. Even trying to be the best person you can and be as nice to people as you possibly can, as good as all that is. That's not dealing with the sin problem.”

#BewareSelfWorship
“Because pride is like one of the chief sins that humans fall into over and over and over again. And there's only one place to anchor your belief that actually unlocks all the power, all the potential without it going to your head. His name is Jesus. At the end of the day, two things are true. Believing in yourself will only take you so far and easily goes too far. Right? Believing in yourself only goes so far and easily goes too far. That's pitfall number one. Pitfall number two, this is even more important, is this. Believing in yourself is a false messiah and a completely dead end if it doesn't bring you to the source of every good gift and your only hope for salvation.”

#BringItToJesus
“So if they if they're up against a demon that they can't cast out, where do they need to go? Not deeper inside themselves. They need to go to Jesus. He's the one who has all authority. He's the one who has all power over every evil spirit, over every obstacle and challenge in your life and my life. He is the one with all authority. The point is not dig deeper and believe more in yourself. The point is bring your problem to me. Watch what I'll do. Believe that I could do something about this thing that maybe you can't believe it.”
