#ValuedByGrace
“``Our problem isn't that we're too busy. Our deepest problem is that we're constantly trying to prove that we're enough, that we're successful enough, and that we're productive enough, that we're good enough, that we're valuable enough. This says it all. The cross says everything. It says, you are valuable no matter how productive you are. You are valuable no matter how much you make in the marketplace. You are valuable, whether you're a stay at home mom keeping the house, trying to keep the kids from, you know, killing each other or you're a CEO. You're valuable enough as a cross because Jesus loved you enough that he would leave his throne in heaven. He would come to this poor, pitiful, broken world and put up with people like you and me and live a perfect and sinless life so that he could be the all time, one time sacrifice for you and for me.”

#SonsAndDaughtersRest
“Now this is really fascinating because he approaches this idea of rest from a totally different perspective, and he says, hey, guys. Remember where you came from? Remember, they had just come out of the land of Egypt. They were slaves there, working seven days a week, three hundred and sixty five days a year. There was no rest. There was no vacation. So he's telling him, remember, you guys used to be like this when you were slaves, but now you are sons and daughters of god. So slaves work seven days a week, but not sons and daughters. Sons and daughters get rest. They get to enjoy the god who brought them out of the land of Egypt and who is taking them to the promised land.”

#IdentityNotToDo
“You know, God has a lot to say about your schedule, actually. And we're we're just gonna look at one little piece of that, but I think what we tend to think is that we have our problem is that we have too much to do. But I go back to the thing I said a moment ago. I think the real problem is we just don't know how to stop and to rest. And I think here's the the thing about busyness. Sometimes we we aren't busy because we have too much to do. We're busy because we don't know who we are if we don't have something to do.”

#RelationshipBeforeWork
“Our work gives us our sense of accomplishment. Our schedules give us a a a sense of importance. Our productivity gives us a sense that we add value to the world. And so that's where busyness becomes more than just being busy all the time. It becomes a real spiritual issue that we have to look at, and we have to reflect on our own lives what's truly important to us. And I want you to understand something this morning, and this is really, really important that we understand this. God created us for relationship before he created us for work.”

#RestInIdentity
“They get to enjoy their family and enjoy their god. And so this reminds us once again that our value is not determined by the amount of work that we do or how successful we are in the marketplace. Our value is found in being God's people, in resting in the fact that we are his sons and we are his daughters, and that is more than enough. There's nothing left to chase in this world if that's who we are.”

#SabbathIsMoreThanSleep
“rest is not just about sleep or taking a nap. It's about enjoying the things that are around us, things that God has blessed us with, renewing our relationship with God and with those who are close with us. But I think all all of the busyness that we go through, it has an effect on us or at least it does on me. And it can cause us to lose perspective. And so I think that's the reason why God actually commands the Sabbath because he knows how easily our work becomes our worship.”

#RestAsFaith
“So for you and I, when we when we choose to stop and rest and God's goodness, Enjoy the presence of our family. It's a statement of faith saying, God, I I trust you enough that I'm gonna cease answering my phone and answering the emails, and I'm gonna rest and know that you are the provider. And you will come through for me, and I'm gonna renew my relationship with you. I'm not gonna allow the busyness of life to keep me from these things.”

#ItIsFinished
“That his blood would be shed, his body would be broken so that ours would not. And that by believing in him and following him with our life the best that we can, that he would save us, give us eternal salvation, make us part of his holy family, and say, your value is not in what you do. You can't pray enough. You can't worship enough. You you can't do enough spiritual deeds. You can't do enough serving in the church. It's already been done. It's what Jesus said on the cross. It is finished. There is no work for us left to do. It has all been done for us.”
